HOF Results out tomorrow - Maddux not unanimous?

I played little league growing up with a kid who was like the great grandson of a George Kelly, a Hall of Famer, and as a result he and his family got to go to Cooperstown every single year as like a VIP and meet all the new inductees and get autographs. I was always insanely jealous. Then a few years ago I read an article naming George Kelly as the single worst player in the Hall of Fame.

I was waiting for you to post on this thread and spell Maddux "Maddox."

I do that on purpose now just to make people mad.

Freddy and Jayson Hayward and Andy Simmuns

Just look at this fucking Gurnick guy. Jesus Christ talk about the 98lb weakling club. The dwarf twins would pummel this guy. He couldnt field a grounder if you were going to shoot his mom in front of him. How do these people get votes?

Given the arbitrariness of its membership, I'm not sure people will continue to care about the baseball HOF in a decade.

Maddux, Glavine, and Thomas in

Biggio finished 0.2% shy of getting in

Maddux only got 97.2%. What a joke.

4 more votes for Clemens than Bonds. I understand (though disagree) how somebody could not vote for either one, but how the hell do you justify a vote for Clemens and not Bonds? Palmeiro falls off the ballot. 16 ballots (including 1 blank ballot) did not include Maddux.

Bagwell not being voted in yet is an absolute joke.

The Bagwell thing is dumb simply because everyone suspects he roided. Same for Piazza. But I don't understand why those guys come under suspicion and Frank Thomas doesn't.

16 morons.

Glad Glavine got in, Craig Biggio will get in next year, although I think he's Hall of Very Good.

Also, give me a Hall of Very Good team and I betcha they'd beat Hall of Fame teams on any given day.

While certainly not conclusive, Thomas was always pretty outspoken against steroid use and a very early proponent of testing.

Frank Thomas was MASSIVE at Auburn, he's not like Bags or Bonds who got much much bigger as they started juicing.

Votes for Jacques Jones and Armando Benitez.

I don't disagree with you Biggio, but he's got one of those magic numbers that eventually get's everyone (except the roid guys) in - 300, 500, 3000.

Tim Raines is my favorite player of all time, its horseshit he's not in.
