Exactly. 11 years as an OC at a BCS school plus 2 more years as an assistant and you lose to a DC of a DII school. Unreal.

I'm picturing Lobo handing the interviewers his portfolio playbook and everything's cool they open it up and start to leaf through, and much like the scene in The Shining where there wife finally reads his work, they see UP THE MIDDLE UP THE MIDDLE UP THE MIDDLE PUNT over and over again page after page. They break into a cold sweat and Lobo's still sitting there grinning like he's given them the keys to the Superbowl.

James Franklin could not hold on to Larry Johnson (the father of the former Penn State and KC Chief RB) as an assistant coach at PSU. Johnson is replacing Mike Vrabel as an LB coach at Ohio State. The impact will be felt in recruiting. Larry Johnson has been one of the best recruiters in the nation, and is particularly effective at recruiting in the DC/MD/VA which has been very fruitful for Penn State.
 
Wow. Georgia is replacing Grantham with Jeremy Pruitt (FSU DC). That is a big loss for FSU and a MAJOR get for UGA. Stunned he would make that lateral move.

That is a strange move as Jimbo and his staff has as much job security right now as any coaching staff in college football. Far from the case at UGA. Would guess that UGA gave Grantham extra cash, and maybe a multi-year deal. Otherwise (unless Jimbo was pulling a Barry Switzer with the assistant's wives), the move makes no sense.
 
Pruitt went from making $540K at FSU to $850 at UGA, so yes, big raise.

Don't think it was Franklin's decision. Reports are that Franklin asked him to stay. I think it probably has more to do with Johnson being kept on, allowed to interview for the head job and then passed over twice in three years than anything else.

You were kind of close in thinking it was about women. Not a big secret that Pruitt liked to slip the sausage to co-eds. So much that his fiance (who worked in athletic dept but was let go) gave him an ultimatum to leave cause he kept slipping the sausage.
 
no way in hell FSU forced him out for banging a few broads. He may have wanted a clean start to get his life together or something, but FSU didn't force him out.
