2014 FB Recruiting Thread: Signing Day is this Wednesday!

It seems really weird to me that a whole new coaching staff (save 2 defensive coaches) would know enough about a LB to move him to QB without any practices. Maybe they saw him throwing 50 yard darts out on the quad?

Logan Thomas 2.0 story.

Now the move is posted on the Internet so it must be true.

Who do we think gets the starting nod, Cameron or Wolford? Both dual threats

No idea, but if I had to guess it would be Wolford. I know Cameron's sample size is small and it's against two very good teams but, he wasn't overly impressive. Clawson probably wants his guy unless TC looks much better.

And Lectro and others surely weren't lazy in building up recruits.

We have talent. That's why JG is gone. He was squandering talented kids and was about to let guys like Tylor Harris fall through the cracks.

That's why I abandoned the old staff with my mid season mea culpa

I would say TC strictly because QB is a tough position to come in in the fall and win out right. If he was an early enrollee I would lean Wolford.

Cameron was not given an adequate opportunity to prove himself in actual game situations. He was thrown to the wolves against the 'Noles. However, he showed enough in his brief appearances to demonstrate that with coaching and experience he could well develop into a player deserving substantial playing time.

I really do not understand Grobe's refusal to give him minutes through out the season, especially in the first halves of games.

(after all, 3 and out is the same no matter who the QB is)

This was true of Grobe each and every year unless injuries forced his hand.

Logan Thomas 2.0 story.

Patrick Thompson 2.0 as well.

I firmly believe Riley Skinner would have been Zac Taylor not for injuries.

Good point, with that expectation do you think Wolford would get a RS? Which would explain the alleged position change of Jones.

I would think that unless Wolford comes in the fall and shows out or if TC earning job outright that we would want to redshirt and save a year on one of our "prized recruits."

You'd have to think Wolford would right? With the uncertainties of year one under a new regime and so many things/positions up in the air, why throw a kid out there straight out of high school with just fall practice? Everyone seems willing to write the season off as a Grobelobo failure anyway so preserve that year and Clawson can then have his guy on the field at QB for four years and two recruiting classes under his belt. Or someone else could establish themselves when given the opportunity. Who knows?

Hasn't Clawson indicated he also believes in "aggressive redshirting," or something along those lines?

Pretty much all jump balls on fades, go routes, and out and ups that he is athletic enough to catch. His QB ain't much. I'd love to see some more footage of him running more routes.

Looks like Claw is targeting plenty of size at WR.

Yeah, looks like every WR is 6-3 or taller.
