The Bzzzz effect....

I still at heart pull for Wake when I'm actually watching the game (when I actually do watch the game these days). However I have this guilty feeling immediately afterwards when we do win that maybe it's not the best thing for the long term benefit of the program. Consequently it doesn't allow me to really enjoy it anymore. To me that's the "[Redacted] effect". And I want him gone so badly so it ends and I can return to fully enjoying both Wake Forest and college basketball again.

Best definition of the [Redacted] effect so far.

Next year when we have a new coach who is cruising towards an NCAA tournament berth, all we're going to hear from Wellman is how without [Redacted] none of our success would be possible.

Disagree.

[Redacted] will be thanked for setting up the foundation for the future but a year from now, [Redacted]'s name will never be mentioned.

And when did 94Deac become such a shitty poster?

Edit: Posted this before seeing that response. Question remains.

The Bzzz effect: I actually watched the final play of the game and saw Codi travel rather than putting on my golden colored glasses, ignoring the obvious and telling State fans to suck it.

Watch us sweep Tobacco Road home and away the rest of the season, have a crappy record otherwise, miss the NCAAs by a mile and then read that Buzz got a 4 year extension. That would be so BuzzLuck.

Put me in the camp of those who fell asleep on the couch at halftime. Woke up to some mildly interesting good news. I think.

You lost me at "away."

We are so fucked now. If the Carolina win wasnt enough this one does it no matter what the road record is and no matter how awful those teams are

I was pretty sure Bzz would be retained after the Heels win, now I am convinced

And if you think we stink now.... just wait till next year

I turned off a tie game with less than 10 minutes to go in the second half and went to bed because the product was so terrible (on both sides of the ball). That is the Bzz effect. A lifelong basketball fan turns off the game of his alma mater in a tie game because it was such a putrid game.

I didn't even bother watching. Even knowing we won, my time was still better spent playing Skyrim.

You have a high opinion of NC State it seems.

We're going to win all but 2 of our home games. This really shouldn't be a surprise.

Sadly, I opted to read about it the next day. Bzz effect is that I no longer watch college basketball. Culture change has worked!

Wellman's culture "shock" change has effectively nuked the optimism for Wake Athletics. Strictly a scorched earth policy...Will be interesting to see how Wellman or his successor plans to reconstruct the foundation...

We will go to the NCAAs this year with 19 or 20 wins. Our players are are solid, on and off court, that matters to me.

Wake cannot make the NCAA Tournament with 19 or 20 wins unless they win the ACC Tournament. The non-con SOS is too bad.

Well said. No better way to set up a piggy bank for yourself and your buddies than to set up a system with no accountability due to no expectations.
