Pit Boss Beer Thread

I am intrigued

Old Bay rim will be necessary during taste tests

Had it last night on tap, sans Old Bay rim. The spices are really subtle and not overwhelming, which is a great thing. Comes in a bit on the back end and overall a pretty refreshing beer. I could drink it all day on a hot summer scorcher and not have a problem.

I'll keep this on the beer thread for obvious reasons, but does anyone have some Asheville rec recommendations? (I familiar with some places like LAB, Salsas, BBQ, Tupelo). But maybe some newer places or off the beaten path?

I'm having a Brooklyn Sorachi Ace for the first time, and, uh... This is a WEIRD beer. Poured pale enough to be called "yellow," with a pretty big head. Smells and tastes of lemon (which apparently comes not from lemon, but from rarely used sorachi hops), but not in a summer shanty way. I don't know how I feel about it.

Along with the same idea, I'm drinking a Founder's Rubaeus. It tastes like a soda my wife would buy at Whole Foods. I had to double check it had alcohol. I'm not a fan.

Yeah, this is one of Brooklyn's refermented ales, so you can definitely taste the alcohol (though, as with their Local 1 and 2 brews, it tastes more like a barley wine in that respect than a traditional beer), but it's just such a weird taste. I think it's growing on me. It's definitely drinkable, and would probably go really well with seafood.

currently on my second Enjoy by 5/16/14 of the night (Stone's Brewing).

dammit they make a good imperial IPA. so damn smooth for 9.5%. dangerous.

I like the sorachi Ace doesn't have the lemonade nastiness of a Shandy - more likea sour beer - if it wasn't so damn pricey I would drink it more

we're actually headed to Brooklyn Brewery on Saturday as part of a bachelor party.

Had the Dogfish Head 60 minute last night and really enjoyed it. I used to not like IPAs, but I've found 4 now that I can really enjoy (Lagunitas, Harpoon, Westbrook, Dogfish 60 minute).

Don't let anyone tell you that 90 minute is better.

Picked up bombers of Blvd Saison-Brett and wicked weed serenity, 4-pack of NoDa Jam Session, as well as a growler of Ballast Point Sculpin IPA yesterday from Stella. It's going to be a good week.

wicked weed, thirsty monk, barleys

90 Min has always been my favorite, but the 75 is pretty damn good too.

Also picked up a sixer of Sweetwater Road Trip pilsner. It's a pretty nice summer beer.

Isn't the 90 just a blend of the 60 and 120? Or is it that the 75 is a blend of the 60 and 90?

I would really like to try the 120 at some point.

the 75 is a blend of the 60 and 90, and only became available somewhat recently. may even be seasonal (too lazy to check). 60 and 90 are 'stand-alone' beers

I've yet to see this around the dash. It kind of snuck past me, I knew it was coming and I wanted it, and suddenly it's 5/15/14 and whoops.

Had one of these last weekend and it was fantastic.

Also had a Hop Drop and Roll which was very good.

Huge fan of the Rodenbach Grand Cru.

Had the 2008 Grand Cru at a bar here last weekend. Not that they brew it differently every year, but it was aged and spectacular. Unreal good.
