It's a farce. It was stolen/copied from a game called three's (that you're supposed to buy) and then a ton of people just flooded the app store with copies of it after someone ported it to the web and called it 2048.
 
So an alligator washed up on folly beach and the lazy ass DNR officer just shot it.
