Pit Boss Beer Thread

this is the first IPL i ever had and now i'm hooked on the style...based in MA, i'm sure distributorship is solely in the northeast for now though. as hoppy as an IPA, but a lot cleaner and crisp due to the lager yeast and the lagering process. i definitely think lager drinking induces much less of a hangover the next day....

Townie, where are you going to be for today's portion of PBW festivities? I am in town with the lady, and we are going to be hitting up some spots.

I wish I could meet up but I have to move a bunch of shit into my new apt with the gf, and go to dinner after with her parents.

Where all are you thinking of going? I would kill to do Eulogy, North Coast is my JAM.

That was my plan. Also, I might hit City Tap for Avery sour and barrel aged offerings.

What'd you end up doing discdude?

I think tonight we're gonna do the Goose Island event at Bishop's Collar and then the D&V Imports event at Belgian Cafe.

The latter is responsible for St Bernardus, Duchesse, Caracole, La Binchoise, Brasserie des Rocs, Girardin, Oud Beersel, and a shitload more. Basically the largest Belgian specialty importer to the US.

First, we went to Jose Pistolas for Nebraska and met the brewer. Then, hit up Good Dog for some Great Divide Rarities. Then, went to Barcade for Bells super takeover. Finally, we hit up Frankford Hall for Dunkel Dare. Pretty thrashed by the end of the night. Definitely hit up BC, D&V is a crazy importer; it was always my favorite day at Shangys when their shipment came in. Their packs were crazy, just like their beer offering.

For some reason, neither of my closest liquor stores carry Brooklyn (and by extension, Brooklyn Summer).

Fuck that noise.

Befriended the Goose Island rep and he bought us beers on beers. The Endless IPA is solid. Sofie and Matilda are good. Bourbon County Stout is just spectacular. I had two.

About to try the Val Dieu Grand Cru.

LET'S GET WEIRD.

the 75 is a blend of the 60 and 90, and only became available somewhat recently. may even be seasonal (too lazy to check). 60 and 90 are 'stand-alone' beers

Just picked up a bottle of the 75 yesterday to try for the first time. The guy who owns my beer store said it's much easier for him to get now and that they're brewing it more often, FWIW. In addition to being a blend of the 90 and 60, they also add maple syrup and bottle condition it. I'm looking forward to it.

Had Parabola for the first time last night. It's probably my favorite barrel aged stout now.

sometimes I hate that I have such a distaste for coffee. it's a strong flavor in many stouts and porters, and I just can't stand the taste.
