The Official US Open* Thread

drinking beer when it's that hot is so dumb. especially when it's bud light lime. PASS.

although the free swill in the corporate tent was sweet.

You might not want to tune in next year for Chambers Bay either. It's got brown grass.

Every picture i've seen of Chambers Bay looks like another planet.

I prefer courses that take on the character of the natural environment. Pinehurst #2 is now very reflective of the sandhills that surround it. Not every course has to be perfectly manicured like Augusta to be a great course. It's never going to hold the appeal of Winged Foot, Pebble Beach, or Oakmont, but #2 deserves its spot in the rotation.

HOW U HAVE PHONE.

Five is a neat hole. Enjoyed watching at 3 and 4 tee the last two days.

My friend is the championship director so he gave a couple out to us. We then took those and made many, many photo copies so we could all take phones. They don't even really look at the gates.

I don't really care what the original intent was, the course looks like a trailer park lawn. I could design a par 3 course with a push mower tomorrow and it might look as good as this dump.

Why are you posting on a golf thread?

Kaymer should have shot 40 on the front nine.

If Stenson or DJ can get to -4 or -5 in the next hour this could get really interesting.

DJ not as concerned about babes, now realizes he can win a trophy

it was fun chanting "CCU!" and "Myrtle Beach!" when he came by

Kevin Na meltdown!

Good. It's amusing to me how NBC is not showing him until right when he pulls the trigger and then talks about how he is playing normal speed now. I watched him for a few holes on Thursday and he he is still slower than all but a handful of guys out there, he just doesn't have the waggle problems now.

Given the issues that he had just a short time ago, I am surprised he is still playing professionally.

Are they making 13 about 300 yards for Sunday? That would be very interesting. Saw Webb hitting from that tee box in a practice round and had no idea why.

Do we know who Fox is going to throw at this event next year? It really sucks this is Miller's last.
