Benghazi Report- a clusterfuck

I'll play.

I think they had a plan put together and the video protest provided the necessary cover/diversion to carry out the attack. Therefore, the albeit clumsy talking points you so vociferously stomp your feet about and blame for Mr. 46% Venture Capitalist's loss aren't really inaccurate. Opponents of this admin simultaneously call this the worst terrorist attack since 9-11 and turn around and demand complete answers in a matter of days. Perhaps they wanted to create an election year issue as badly as they accuse the Admin of trying to avoid one. Just maybe..

They didn't just "have something planned". Let's not pretend that this was Oklahoma City and some idiot blew up a soft target full of daycare kids and bureaucrats out of the blue. Nobody snuck this in the back door of a protest march. The place had gone to shit and everyone knew it (again, read, please). Every other significant Western interest withdrew in the preceding six months as the security situation fell apart. We don't have to speculate: we have cables from the dead guy asking for more help, which went totally unheeded, as we all witnessed a week later. This isn't the "Somewhere on Earth some bad guys might be trying to hijack a plane from somewhere to somewhere on some day" PDB that gets RJ in a lather. This is the late Chris Stephens saying "It sucks right here, right now, somebody do something, fast." #oops You know what Hillary Clinton wasn't going to tell Meet the Press? That.

So somebody else went and said something....different.

Are we talking about the talking points after the fact or the six months preceding?

When the place was getting targeted for attacks in the months leading up to 9/11/12, everybody should have been on plenty of notice that things had turned the wrong way. They were, indeed, on notice. You can read the cables for yourself from the dead guy. You can point to memos from the other mulitnationals that withdrew and the reasons they stated for their withdrawal.

The fact that they were on notice and were still caught flat footed begat the talking points. That is what happened. It wasn't unprecedented, will surely happen again, but let's stop pretending that the sky is red.

It has been a while since you've posted an actual thought. Gifs and hashtags aren't exactly the hallmarks of the supporters of an Administration that is performing well.

So your beef is with the intelligence community and the military then, right?

After eight investigative commissions filled with Rs and Ds have found absolutely nothing about this attack indicating wrongdoing, what would it take for you to let it go?

Hanging Obama (and eliminating from all US history) and putting Hillary in supermax for life.

No. The Admin chose to staff and undersecure an exposed position, had it blow up in their faces, and then lied about it.

I'll bet money that this thread will still be on the front page of the Tunnels in 2016.

So the Admin acted outside of the recommendations of the military and the intel community assigned to this position?

I don't like disagreeing with you, but it could easily be on the board in 2020 during Hillary's re-election campaign.

You are aware that all of those "facts" have been proven incorrect multiple times now right?

Who makes the staffing decisions for the Secretary of State? A: The Secretary of State (the person the late Ambassador was making his security requests to, in case you'd like to argue this point for some desperate reason).

Did it blow up in their faces? A: Yes, without question.

Did they tell the truth in those talking points? A: What they said was not accurate, by their own admission. The chance of an innocent mistake is pretty iffy given that it would have been perfectly acceptable to tell one news outlet that the investigation as ongoing. They picked a story that they liked and told e'erybody. To illustrate how badly the Admin wanted the false narrative out, they actually went on Fox News in person. That doesn't happen much.

that's not disagreeing einstein

I'm #teamRJ (though he's making it difficult a lot more lately), but I think I really dig the visceral reactions he gets from Milhouse. Milhouse responding to an RJ post has more salt than almost anything on these here boards.

You are aware that everyone of your assertions have been disproven multiple times by investigative committees with both Rs and Ds?

"multiple investigative committees" have concluded that the Secretary of State isn't responsible for staffing decisions at Consulates? Multiple? How about we start with "any"?

Who is responsible for doing the Secretary of State's job, then? #thisshouldbegood

"multiple investigative committees" have concluded that the Benghazi debacle didn't in fact blow up, contrary to all available evidence?

"multiple investigative committees" have concluded that the Admin's talking points were truthful?
