The big thing with me is there is no reason to have both. I typically am going to be playing Call of Duty, Destiny, whatever new Bioware RPG or Bethesda RPG is out, and the occasional other title like Halo, etc. There is no incentive for me to have both.

OK, back to being torn on the systems. We have cut the cord on cable and it looks like xbox has way more TV apps to use than ps4, including the watch espn app, which would allow me to watch games on my TV instead of just on my computer or IPad.

Also, I have an original XBox, which according the microsoft site I can still use for the $100 coupon on the console, which would allow me to keep my PS3 and a void the aforementioned loss of my PS3 library.

That would be awesome if they took old XBox 1's. Damn.

For those of you in Winston, Scott Leftwich is opening up his private arcade again on 11/8. If you aren't familiar with it, Scott has 50-60 arcade machines that he has purchased and/or restored over the years. They are all pre-1985 machines so while there are some true classics like Joust, Zaxxon, Punch-Out, Frogger, etc. there are also some great games that may have been forgotten over time and some strange games that are interesting for their novelty. He opens the arcade for a couple of three hour blocks and sets all the machines to free play. Spots are available by appointment only, and there is a $10 cover charge to get in. They also have some decent hot dogs/snacks that you can purchase while you are there. I've been a couple times, but won't be able to make it this go around. If you are interested, check out his Facebook page here and let him know you'd like to stop by.

If people don't want to know about a particular game mechanic, I'll put the video in spoilers

Dafuq?

Prettay, prettay stoked. I'm still meandering my way through Shadows of Mordor... going to have to hurry up to devour Unity and DA: Inquisition.

So ... Heroes of the Storm is pretty damn fun. And there's no NDA, so ask away if you have questions about the alpha.

The group I play League of Legends with tried out HotS and couldn't really get into it, felt too unresponsive. Then again, we're kind of invested in LoL so *shrug*

I prefer it to LoL, I think. Try to give my reasons here:

#1 - The combat and movement "feels" better. This is something that Blizzard excels at, and it's excellent again. Especially when playing a melee hero, you know exactly how you will path and everything is "smooth". The combat isn't as fast as LoL / DoTA, but it feels more solid and predictable to me.

#2 - I like the shared XP, allows for more combinations of tactics. You aren't behind in the end game if you don't sit and farm creeps. Leads to more action in the early game.

#3 - I like the talents as opposed to items, and I like "objectives" as well. Just feels a very fluid way to gain power, and you don't have to play the same hero the same way every game (or depend on getting certain items, you will always have the talents available to pick).

#4 - The heroes are just flat out cooler/more fun. Hearing Arthas growl "FROSTMOURNE HUNGERS" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything a LoL or DoTA hero has ever done. Using the iconic characters they've spent a generation and a half making just helps Blizzard a ton here.

I think the Heroes (and mounts/skins omg) are still way overpriced right now, and the community is definitely going to downhill once it leaves narrow invite only alpha stage (right now the community is really good, as opposed to the vile cesspools of humanity that are the DoTA and "ESPECIALLY" the LoL communities). But overall, this game is going to be a huge hit. It's just
