2013 Pit Fantasy Baseball League (Year III)

I know that this is used to limit streaming, but I have found that these types of rules favor the least interested owners. Streaming is fair to everyone and is just one of many strategies owners can/should use. $100 seems very low and since we have never used or voted on this new rule I would propose that it be increased.

you can claim people for $0.

i'd be open to making the budget higher. that's the yahoo default. let me check my other league.

Is it a high bid waiver system versus a priority system? I don't really care, since I doubt I will make 100 moves, but I wouldn't be surprised if I get somewhere close as I tend to stream at times.

old way:

all players are free agents unless they are owned. anyone can grab them at any time. if a player is dropped, he goes to waivers for 2 days. at the end of that period, the team with the highest priority that claims them gets them.

new way option 1:

-all players are FAs. nothing changes there.
-if a player gets dropped he goes to waivers. players bid their FAAB budget. at the end of the waiver period the team with the highest bid gets the player at the cost to their budget.

new option 2:
-every day all players are on waivers. every night there's a auction where teams can bid for players. you can bid $0.

For option 2, when does the player get put on waivers during the day? Cause there a bunch of times I will log in around lunch and check my team to see someone sitting out or missing starts or something and want to dump and grab someone else for that days game. As long as the players are put on waivers at some point after the first game starts, thats fine with me.

Honestly, I would still be fine with #2 even if it doesn't, just have to change up when I look at my team.

oh snap -- the draft is tonight?!

looks like ill be going with my "do no research but draft lots of Mariners" strategy again.

you would not be able to pick up a player in the morning to start them that day. i'm pretty sure you couldn't do that in this league last year because roster changes were set to "daily- tomorrow" last year. i updated to "daily - today," so yopu could put the claim in on monday and start a player on tuesday. last year you would have owned him on monday, but he wouldnt be able to play until tuesday i believe.

Really dislike (I think it was this league) that you can't pick up a FA if they're in a game that has already started that day. Not that I want their stats for that day, but then it became a contest over who would stay up to 12:01am to claim them (if it was someone that several people might want, but wasn't on waivers, such as Edward Mujica who went from bench fodder to Sox closer in a day).

Also, on the above options, I like option 2- though I think an auction over a 2 day period (if possible) would be better.

The amount of FAAB really doesn't matter. Just as an auction, if everyone has 1000 or 100, it doesn't matter.

I like the $260, and if guys are on waivers for two days that allows everyone "fair" right to bid. Some dude in my ESPN league just drooped Ellsbury. I'm near the bottom of the waiver order - wish we had an auction in that league.

i have rendon in both my keeper leagues at super valuable prices. thanks obama.

F. Forgot this was tonight. I'm not going to be able to make the draft.

PS - Thanks again for all the work and getting this shit straight!

no prob. have been a bit of an absentee commish since i had vacay the last 2 weeks (and the prep at work to be ok taking it prior).
