ACC Mens Golf Championships

Before anyone fires up the inevitable "Fire Haas" bandwagon (I'm inclined to agree with you actually), there is pretty much zero chance he is let go with the recruiting class he has coming in next year. Our roster will be loaded.
 
Also, given how close the regional is to here, plus how shaky he's playing I can just about guarantee that Womble's father is out there following him around. I've seen quite a few helicopter dads around junior and college golf, but I've never seen one as bad as Davis' father.
 
I have been begging for Haas to be fired for years but even I wouldn't fire him now--we will have the best talent in many years on our team next fall.

That is one of the saddest things there is to watch. How do dads like that live with themselves?
 
We need about 3 guys to shoot 32 or 33 on the front.

There are NCAA rules that say that no parent can say anything involving swing tips or anything like that to the kids during the round of they'll be penalized, granted that doesn't really stop many helicopter dads. Granted, I've seen a lot of dads get way into shit during tournaments. Conference was always the worst. I feel bad for those kids. My dad was always pretty chill throughout tournaments thank god, can't imagine the pressure on the kids of dads who hover and critique everything.

I've never seen them play in a tournament setting, how bad is his dad?

Wake already has some birdies on the first few holes of the front. Although the leaders seem to continue pushing further ahead, most are just hitting the back now. Hopefully at least a few will back up while we move up.
 
LK will be excited to know that the ACC re-upped with old north state for the men's championships thru 2020 yesterday.

With need Clemson, KSU and UNC to stumble on the back to help us out a bit.

Also, in troll news, UNCC made the turn on the front 9 at +1. They have lost the lead and there is a freight train coming for them, they would be lucky to hang onto the top-5 after today.

Maverick McNealy is crushing that course right now.

One of the things our team has lacked for the last 6 or 7 years is a McNealy type player who can go insanely low and carry the team almost by himself. We had that with Hass, Simpson and Reifers. All were capable of shooting 6 or 7 under on any given day, which does a lot to offset having to count a 75. Zalatoris is a great player, and is without a doubt going to be a star for us, but he hasn't shown that next gear yet. He's unbelievably consistent though.

For sure. It was frustrating in the ACC tourney when one day all the guys were around even, nobody went low. We didn't score great as a team because of that, and I think our last place finisher was like 5 shots better than the last place finisher from any other team that day, but that doesn't matter.

In an unrelated to golf question, I saw the Men's Soccer championship location just says "Campus Sites". The women's shows the Cary location. Does that mean the men's tournament will go all the way through on the higher seed's field? Last year they had the first few rounds at the schools, but then the semi's and finals were in Cary.

Oh for fucks sake...considering the geographic footprint of the acc, it's insane that we don't move it around. Think of some of the courses that could host it.

Been neg repped twice for no reason by Goniners in the same day... For somebody blowing his load about his clients guess they must be ignoring him. Must be a sad life. Maybe he's just salty that his shit school has the 4th worst score on the day.

Yep, highest seed will host all the way thru the finals. 2 week tournament.

They are tied for the lead and 10 shots clear of the cut line. I doubt he is worried.
