Video Game Thread - The Last of Us = GOTY

Never played any of the Fallout games, guess it's time to check them out.

They're pretty good. The first 2 were isometric RPGs. 3 and New Vegas were based on the Oblivion engine, so they're Oblivion with guns in a post-apocalyptic world.

Great games, even if a little buggy.

Ok you guys convinced me, I've had Fallout NV and 3 sitting in my Steam Library untouched; I set NV downloading before I left this morning.

Witcher is so good

Agreed. I'm still in White Orchard - about to do the Griffin fight - but man, this is a really good game. The graphics are spectacular on PC (Ultra) and the people make you feel like you're really in a different world. I love the setup of the quests where you have to learn about a monster, prepare for the battle, and then get to it - all to solve some problem in the world. This is really impressive so far. I also love the revisions to the combat system from TW2.

Yeah, surprisingly engaging without feeling like a fetch quest marathon.

Looks pretty great. The opening with the record player is pretty reminiscent of Bioshock, maybe a little too much. Get some NVIDIA Hairworks on that dog.

Bioshock borrowed that from Fallout. We gave Ken Levine some shit about it. :)

Ha. That's cool. Didn't know that as I didn't play the Fallout games. Were you a computer programmer in college? I sometimes wonder if I should have done something like that instead of becoming a lawyer.

No. I'm the VP of PR/Mktg. I majored in marketing at Wake. I get to do a lot of other stuff 'cause I've been here since Bethesda was 15 people and the dev team was 10 of them.

It would be a solid PR move to get the people on this thread some advance copies so we can tell all of our well-to-do, influential friends how awesome F4 is.

War. War never changes.

Now with 100% more Troy Baker.

Was happy to see that there was no mention of last gen consoles, so it should be a big step forward from 3/NV.

This is me, I've put 30 minutes into 3 and 0 into NV but I feel I need to remedy that now.

This, feel free to hook some brothers up!

Also DC- Am I correct in saying that 1:50 is Fenway?
