The devil never sleeps, this time it's Nice, France

I'm beginning to side with Trump. You have to admit, he's been eerily prescient.

Islam is a religion of peace.

Useless comment and one that seems to attempt to capitalize on the tragedy just so you can get your pathetic political point in. Well done, Red. Good job, good effort.

Be better. 80+ people are dead. Maybe while their bodies are still warm isn't the best time to make your attack on an entire religion? But you do you, Red. You do you.

I just calls it as I sees it. My guy Bernie is "endorsing" crooked Hillary

Weird use of quotes.

Bernie was my guy too but I was onto Hillary long before Bernie officially gave up. Because I'm pragmatic.

If you are really pragmatic, you likely live in a state which will likely not come down to a few hundred, let alone one vote. Pragmatic shows both of these self-absorbed, disqualified from being CIC candidates, no more.

Johnson/Weld. For example, I live in Georgia. If my vote or even a thousand, make a difference, the election is over anyway. If you live in California, Texas, Oklahoma, New York, Jersey, Mass, same thing.

I'm pissed. I want to have these bastards taken out, and want retribution. I also know of the legacies of Chamberlain and Korematsu. I will stick to my better nature and implore you all to do the same.

Pray for the victims and their families. Urge an Article 5 declaration under NATO.

Republican since 1992. #Never Trump.

The problem with issuing p.c. apologies you don't subjectively believe is you end up getting angry when people point out how wrong you were. Sorry about it.

What if you guys put down the script and pick up a newspaper for a change? Maybe 80 people would still be alive

Kareem Jabbar's ancestors came to America as slaves. Where would Newt deport Kareem or his kids, whose family have been American citizens for a minimum of 150 years? Newt's bright and well educated enough to know his "plan" isn't remotely feasible or constitutional, but cynically doesn't give a fuck because he knows the people he's pandering to are morons.

Seriously? You're blaming these deaths, where a truck was driven through a crowd of people, in a country thousands of miles away, on Democrats/liberals/people who post on here? I can only surmise that "you guys" that group of people.

Pretty bold statement, even for you jhmd.

I figured he was referring to the pro-immigration pc crowd throughout the west. Obviously these types of people are not limited to this board and can also be found in Europe.

Why don't we wait for some facts to come out before blaming this on recent migrants/refugees. If past history is any guide, the perpetrator is more likely to be a French citizen. If you want to blame it on the religion of peace, well, at this point I think that's fair game.

The United States should be doing more to militarily defeat Isis in Iraq, Syria, etc. so that it can deny them territory from which they can train, organize, etc. That said, Islamic Terrorism can never be outright militarily defeated even if a group like Isis has its logistics and leadership structure wiped out. Isis is actually a pretty huge exception to where many experts saw terrorism going-- decentralized groups relying on modern technology to spread their ideas to impressionable and disillusioned youths who might receive minimum funding/support to go out and hit soft targets. It was the Iraq war catastrophe and failed states that made the actual capture and occupation of territory possible by a group like Isis. But again, before we launch into WWIII or demonize an entire faith of one billion, we need to think about how we can most effectively combat the entire illness of Islamic terror, because it will still be here when Isis is dead and gone.

French tv is reporting his name: Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel. He was from Tunisia. 31 years old. Muslim. Three children and a wife.

We are denying them territory. They've been losing ground for around a year now. Pay attention.

Definitely. I am surprised we haven't seen more of it, especially in the US where it is so easy to get lots of guns and ammo. There is no amount of security or surveillance that can stop a radicalized person from driving a truck into a crowd. The ideology has to be defeated somehow, and you can't kill an idea with guns and bombs.

I don't know what the answer is quite frankly. It's a low risk, high reward system for ISIS as well. They don't even have to be involved and can claim credit after the fact if an attack succeeds. If an attack doesn't succeed it doesn't matter to them.

I believe that guns and bombs in the Middle East largely contributed to the escalation of extremist ideology and agree with 923 that we cannot defeat ideas and radicalization by bombing and killing where inevitable collateral damage in the region almost inevitably creates more animosity against the US and West in general.
