Mine is the opportunity to spend time outdoors, getting in touch with nature and appreciating the natural environment.
 
Vocal, aggressive stand up sex in the woods (with a woman, the bears and deer ran away) during a camping trip is the closest I've ever felt to being a porn star. That was years ago.

Now it's the delight my kids get from campfires, fishing, hiking, and the night noises of the woods. I've been so many times that camping trips are now really just for them.

It really does. I hate it now. I'm talking about primitive camping with a tent and fire in a remote location, digging a latrine, all that. We've evolved and adapted as a species. I don't understand going full-retro with our personal habitat for a weekend (outside of the "adventurous" appeal of it when we're children).

camping is great....if it's back country camping/backpacking. going to a campground with a bunch of n00bs and trailers is fucking awful

I dig a slit trench and cover my deuces and paper as I go. Got a four legged toilet seat so I don't have to hold on to a limb. Had one break one time and fell ass first into my own dirty, dirty deuce.

Let's talk about this. For example, the stand-up sex: was this like a stand-up 69, or were you holding her up in the air whilst plowing her, or was this like a congress of the cow?
 
Fuck camping. My pops was an outdoorsman when he was younger. Summer after 8th grade he sent me off for a month to a program where you hiked the AT Monday dawn to Friday sunset for 4 weeks straight with a 50lb pack.

Did like 100+ miles on the AT in a month. Actually probably more than that.

Pop's plan backfired as that cured me from wanted to hike or camp ever again.
 
Yeah, you should be doing about 100 miles a week at that rate.

Fucking N00bs. I agree backpacking is absolutely amazing, nothing like getting away from everything for a weekend and not having to worry about work/email/texting/drama.

I also like car camping with noobs though. Mostly because I like any excuse to get raging drunk and do drugs.

Also I always go to a Chinese buffet with the rubes after I get home, and eat like it is going out of style. It is amazing.

When I was in college I worked as a white water guide in the summers, so I spent every summer literally living in a tent by the river. I basically camped for 3 months at a time, greatest job ever.
