Indiana -5

Wolford was a baller. Did what he needed to do to get the win.

FBS caliber. No question.

He played a gutsy game, but not a particularly good game. 16-29 for 172, missed a few passes, was bailed out on the TD catch by Wade. He made just enough plays to win. But let's not kid ourselves. We got 5 ints and a blocked FG and still had to recover an onside kick to win. A large part of that was his inability to consistently move the ball down the field.

180 yards on the ground. OL must be improved. Intercept five passes. Makes up for giving up 496 yards in the air. No Deacon turnovers. On the road. Payback.
800 rushing yards in 4 games. 1200 last season.

He had an excellent game. Great decisions on the handoff of keep plays good runs and some wonderful passes. The kid played great. Happy for him and the team trusts him now. Not many guys make the left handed play for the first down. Gym rat.

Good job by Wolford today, doesn't change the fact that Hinton is better for this team, but it shouldn't detract from his performance today either. Well done Deacs!

I'm pretty bearish on Wolf in general but thought he was okay today. Hinton should go back to getting 100% of the QB snaps when he's ready, but Wolf will still likely be needed at some point, given Hinton's size and playing style.

Also Wolford did a really good job today dealing with the center snaps. They were very poor this game and he kept many plays on track on tough snaps.

Probably best for our coaches to sort that out. Taking care of the ball was hhhuuuggge today.

Noticed Terry was getting some snaps at center today.

Without their man Feeney I thought their OL was pretty weak, yet they held our pass rush in check most of the game. And it's hard to complain about a 2dary that comes up with 5 picks but there were quite a few weak moments including IU's last TD. Offense lacks consistency at everything but was able to do enough to win w/ the 5 TOs. It sure beats being on the other end of these games though.

With road wins @ IU and Duke we're really far ahead of our projections. This sort of reminds me of 2006 where I always expected the next game to be a fall back to earth. Next week another road dog outing that's definitely winnable.

Wolford is a tough, gutsy kid. His game isn't pretty, but with more confidence he could prove to be more effective than anyone expects. His runs were huge today.

Hinton is better, but Wolford deserves a ton of credit for his play today.

Oh come on. The guys who have been crushing Wolford have to give it up for that performance. 235 yards passing + rushing, 2 TD's, zero turnovers, and the freak closing tip/touchdown and opening 80 yarder are as bad as a couple of the picks were good.

With Cade out we get over 100 yards rushing from Colburn as well. Went for it on 4th in a good spot, threw on a some first downs and ran successfully on some 3rd downs. Threw when we could have played it safe up a couple scores to extend the lead to 3 scores...

Awesome performance by the defense, excellent performance by the offense. Like Duke, wasn't as close as the score made it look.

I predict NC State favored by 3

They did a nice job against Ejiofor, he had a couple of pass deflections, but no sacks I don't think. Get the feeling that he isn't 100%, right now though. Our d-line is pretty solid and we actually have some depth.

I don't remember them being that bad in the 1st half; but there was a big difference in the 2nd half.

He played better than he has all season, he made some plays and we won a big road game. We are riding him for a few more weeks at the least so hopefully this is the confidence boost he needs to play even better next week. He will likely need to as I don't see us getting 5 TOs. We had almost 400 yards which isn't bad. Gave up over 600. Some of that was late including the 50 yarder

I think we saw Wolford'e ceiling today. Made some good throws and had some amazingly clutch plays that I didn't think he was capable of. Solid performance with some errors that can be pointed out but overall an incredibly gutsy game. Happy for him and the guys. Getting to 5-0 next week would be incredible.

We're 4-0 with 8 to go. I'll be happy if we win 3 of them to get to 7 wins, ecstatic with 4 to get to 8, and disappointed with 2 to get to a crappy bowl but I'll take it.

And IU was missing both starting OL on the right side. But...we win big with Hinton and Carney.
