Chicago Cubs Thread - Playoff Push Pending

Cubs dodged a bullet tonight. Great comeback. Outstanding defense. Dodgers are going to be a tough team to beat.

Enjoy the party

Lots of warning track power for cubs tonight - if pitching can keep it close think we break through

Javy is a GOD

Almighty Zeus I swear to you that if we win it all I'm getting his MLB tat (not on my neck)

Cubs fans, any worry to the number of innings the bullpen has thrown so far? Certainly can't do this every game

We have 8 dudes in the pen, should be ok - lester went 6 - 6 2/3 innings over two games is ok.

OK fair point but why is Chapman pitching the 9th? Maybe I'm just old fashioned but down 1-0 makes no sense to me, have nothing to gain from it

Keep it at 1 run - day off tomorrow means he can rest, and you can't plan ahead in a series, cross that bridge when you come to it

Kershaw and Jansen were outstanding. Fowler, Rizzo, Zobrist, Russell and Heyward are now a collective 13 for 109 in the post season. The problem is obvious.

Even though his stats aren't great I wouldn't include Zob in that group. Seems like he's getting good swings and is maybe just getting unlucky. And he has had some big, extra-base hits.

The rest gotta stop being passengers

2 on and 2 out in the 5th or 6th after back-to-back hits by rookies and J-Hey strolls to the plate. At which time every Cubs fan groaned because they knew he wouldn't come through.

Sit the bum.
