FBI PROBING NEW CLINTON EMAILS

All this worry about Trump is pretty funny considering the president he should be most compared with is Bill Clinton.

Both use their fame to get laid and are all about enjoying themselves in office. Neither is an ideologue and both will change plans if it seems politically necessary.

Trump will be a bit embarrassing when he talks but otherwise, meh. Our government is set up to prevent too much power from being in one persons hands and I doubt Donald will be too ambitious about changing the world. We certainly will not get a monstrosity like Obamacare during his presidency and may even have a chance to repeal it. We will be less likely to become involved in a war with Trump than with Hillary. Trump's bark is definitely worse than his bite as he will negotiate on everything.

You guys are all worked up in fear, but I don't see it.

I think the message we would send by electing Hillary would be even more damaging.

Bill Clinton's preparation for the job compared to Donald Trump's is like comparing Gregg Popovich to Kevin McHale. I'm really not so sure that Trump is all bark, and I don't know that you can confidently say that either. The argument I hear most in support of Trump is literally "we have no idea what he will be like, let's give it a shot !"

very good post

I might also add that both have contributed to an unwelcome vulgarization of public life. However, Trump's wife appears to be better looking and less dangerous than Bill's wife.

We have a pretty good idea by now. True that Clinton spent his life in politics where Trump did not. We have a pretty good idea that Trump says crazy stuff but he then backs off when confronted by more knowledgeable people. He sees all his political positions as the opening stance in a negotiation. Very different than anyone before him, but hardly scary.

It's really absurd that anyone would say hating Clinton has some sexist motivations.

And we don't have to worry about her running for President 20 years later.

That's a heaping pile of rationalization right there as trump has shown little evidence of deferring to more knowledgeable people.

If you look at most of his early positions, they have almost all been "walked back" a bit. I assume someone is advising him to moderate his positions. He does like to speak before he has fully thought about something. Not a great quality for a politician but hardly the cause for great fear.

To be fair if he conferred with most or any of the brilliant minds in the media for advice he would have bowed out about 100 x over the the last 2 years - The "knowledgeable" people on both sides of the aisle, in the media and our board geniuses have been wrong at every turn. Can we give him credit for that?

I don't agree with that characterization. Surprised anybody who has something to lose would either

Reading comprehension fail. That sentence reads that there are 650k emails on the laptop. Laptops can have many email accounts. How many official Hillary business is not known.

Keep swinging boys. Your bats are about as good as the Cubs' so far

650K emails is a bizarre number. HRC was SOS for four years. That's 400+ emails per day. There were never only 3 problem emails on Weiner's laptop, but 650K is mind boggling. 33K missing emails is shady, but if they circulated 650K emails, they would have had to document every thing they did every minute of the day. Christie has to be cracking up over Bridegate evidence. If Hillaryland produced anything remotely close to 600K emails, they were clowns, will lose, and would deserve to lose.

It's more like comparing Gregg Popovich to Donald Trump.

I tend to agree with this, but if he can reverse course on immigration and initiate the process of term-limits and a lobbying ban on former congressmen, he can get impeached for all I care. One he can do within his executive powers. Term-limits he could do without Congress if need be (through state-brokered convention). Lobbying ban he may want to tack onto the amendment because Congress would find some way around it with all the scummy lawyers in there.

That's like 350,000 years of Roy Cooper's productivity.
