The Pit Parenting Thread

I've never had less than 10 days. Is that a thing?

Not for us, always been 10 days. Of course, the chances we remember all the doses is a whole other thing. And it's good to keep in mind. Thanks wake gal

Kid just woke up puking. Everything smells like spoiled milk in my house. Merry Christmas!

One kid has had the flu this week that turned in pneumonia. Other kid is now in his room coughing his head off. Luckily, all presents wrapped cause I've got a bad feeling about this.

So sorry.

2 years ago wife went to grocery store to grab something and brought back norovious. 3 of 4 of us were wiped out. Then 2 yo made it through unscathed. I had to take care of 5 yo and myself because I was the least sick.

Yeah, but you have the Big Man blessing your kids with reasonable sleep. The rest of us sinners need a little help, Padre

Age 2 for both boys, P can give or take one. Our dentist/pediatric orthodontist said that was reasonable and our ped said not to rush

We just took it away, they seemed to adjust fine :Noidea:

that's cool. We have friends who weren't as lucky in that respect with sleeping napping etc and the boy has been a great sleeper knock on wood since getting over reflux at around the same time

Kid was not interested in a pacifier despite me begging him to suck on anything else at some point during his first few weeks.

ok Pit parents...let's talk about IVF. Have any of you gone through that process? We've been trying for a couple of years and have had about 20 doctor assisted attempts to conceive. (before anyone makes any shitty DV7 comments, it's not him who is the problem) Yesterday the doctor told us it's time for IVF and we got a couple of referrals for local specialists - one private practice and one through Wake. I'm just super mad/angry/sad and all of the feels right now but I figure I just need to jump into research mode and I can't even stand trying to read the baby boards that are out there anymore. So whats up Pit...someone please tell me it's was easy peazy and you had a baby on the first attempt because that's what I need to hear right about now.

Depending on the why natural isn't working will greatly dictate the answer to your question.

Well I can't ovulate on my own but medication fixed that. They don't know why the other methods (naturally and several IUIs) weren't working because all my tests came back normal - good egg count, no blockages etc.

Not my field at all but the lack of ovulation is I believe the number one cause of infertility. Ovulation problems however usually have additional undetermined reasons and failure of IUI and drugs is fairly common. If I had to guess it's the underline cause of ovulation hormone imbalance that results in a failed environment for fertilized egg implanting. IVF mostly gets around this problem by the very nature of how it's conducted. If you wanted odds with uncomplicated ovulation issues but currently an unknown reason why IUI isn't working I'd say 50/50 shot first time. Actually that kind of condition is prime for the we put too much surprise you have 2+ on the way.
