Asheville Restaurants

it's worth noting that even when the line is out the door at biscuit head your total time to get food is still <1 hour usually, slow line but fast food delivery, still a better deal than sunny point in that regard for weekend brunch.

we always go to the Biltmore Ave one and by the time you've ordered (maybe 20-30 mins) a table is pretty much always available. I think I've only had to wait once for a table and it was like 2 minutes while they cleared one off.

never been to the West Asheville one...is it bigger?

I've been to the West Asheville one. Same wait. Not three hours.

It can be a little more crowded than the biltmore one IMO since it's gotten the most press and was the first, but I feel like the space is a little bigger too. still, longest I've had to wait in line is 40 minutes or so.. i still try to only go on weekdays though, no wait at all FTW.

I can't wait until Gan Shan opens up their West Asheville location, no more driving all the way to montford for that is gonna be YUGE.

I still haven't been there but I think about going a lot

Ooh you gotta go. Ramen is just ok, I usually only get that on build-your-own-ramen night on Tuesdays, but they've got a really good drunken noodles dish (black bean chicken that's double fried is awesome w/ this) and last time I went they had some great lettuce wraps on tap (menu changes every few months). Always have Westbrook Gose there too ftw (chef came from Charleston/Xiao Bao Biscuit iirc). I was not super impressed my first time visiting right after opening, but they've turned it around bigly/gotten it on point.

We're thinking of hitting up the Hi-Wire Big Top tonight -- been to the original once last summer when it was so goddamn hot we had one beer and left. Have to be in the village tonight to pick up something so figured we might check it out. Is Foothill Meats good? Their menu looks tasty.

I've never been but lemme know how it is if you do go. Menu does look pretty awesome.

Your other option down there is the new Pour location, which I still also need to go to (and am very sad they moved from West Asheville), and they have food provided by a partnership with Homegrown iirc which is another favorite of mine up in Montford.

yeah I thought about Pour, too because I'm thinking Hi Wire could be cold af tonight

hm, admiral reservations all booked for Saturday. Zambra it is!

Friday is a question mark; we are getting into town pretty early, hitting early girl, then ? until going to Biltmore. Have tickets into the house for 4pm and can do more of the grounds/garden ahead of time, but that still leaves a chunk of time in the morning to do ___. Then dinner afterwards, too. I don't necessarily want to eat on the grounds - there are too many good places in asheville - but it's also st. patty's day and I don't want to deal with all of that crap after such a long day (we fly all night, land in CLT at 6am, then drive into AVL).

Biltmore had introduced some new restaurants but I don't know much on them.

And is pizza guy coming with you?!?

We're doing Asheville in June for an anniversary trip. We've got dinners planned but I'm looking for places for good drinks! I'm a vodka, gin, tequila girl and he's a vodka, bourbon, scotch guy. With that said I don't like girly drinks like cosmos. Where can we get good eclectic drinks?

I say check out Buxton Hall and if there's a wait go next door to Catawba. Usually my table is ready before I even finish my first beer.

Top of the Monk. Rhubarb and Limones are restaurants with great cocktails.

Buxton Hall has great cocktails as well and I love, love their Cheerwine bourbon slush.

Cool- good plan. Thanks!

Get drinks at En La Calle. They are super awesome and the atmosphere is cool and laid back.
