"Better Call Saul" series finale Monday, August 15 (new Odenkirk show on AMC)

Ugh. Please no. Such an easy cop-out to inject drama into a show that doesn't need it. The BB/BCS writers are better than that.

So you mean we're not going to see this scene between Kim and Jimmy?

It'd be interesting if Chuck's house burning was more calculated than it was a breakdown. Maybe Kim ends up getting sued by HHM or Chuck for when she was a partner with Jimmy, she goes bankrupt and gets disbarred, Jimmy loses his SandPiper share, then he goes into Saul mode to make a buck anyway he can. In parallel Mike gets coerced by Gus and takes Jimmy down with him as they both sell out. Essentially Mike's doing it for his family and Jimmy's doing it for Kim so they reach a deeper partnership, explaining why principled Mike and douchebag Saul are so closely attached in Breaking Bad.

Interesting thoughts.

Who is Mike going to turn to if he needs a lawyer if not Jimmy?

I don't see a big deal about Jimmy changing his name to open up shop as Saul Goodman. Nobody pays much attention to the yellow pages lawyers comings and goings even amongst local lawyers.

He ran plenty of local commercials.

Isn't Mike's story basically done? He's "officially" working for Gus, which obviously leads to him actually working for Gus. How much more is there between the Mike we know now and the Mike we meet when Jane dies?

Practically, I understand that the BCS writers can't just drop Mike, but it seems like they essentially wrapped up his path to the Walter White universe.

I sure hope not. There is plenty to know about Mike's relationship with Gus and Mike's relationship with Jimmy/Saul. Hell, we could learn more about his ongoing relationship with Lydia. We know Nacho gets back involved with Saul somehow. Mike may have something to do with that.

So Chuck has to have a will, right?

Plenty of reasons to become Saul. The two obvious are one I pointed out at the end of last season which didn't come to be-- Jimmy is just sick of being associated with Chuck. The other would be perhaps it acts as a loophole to get him out of his lawyering probation.

Can't be a loop hole. That would be terrible if a lawyer could just change the name on their license and keep rolling.

No way this show would be any more than decent if it was a standalone, right?

The take is wrong...

It does add points for fitting in to the breaking bad world.

So Chuck has to have a will, right?

Would cause of death be an issue for asset/debt allocation? E.G. would it make a difference whether it was ruled a suicide vs. an accident?
