BC: Keys to victory

BC's QB, Anthony Brown, was offered by WF and took an official visit to campus. While he was mulling his decision, Jamie Newman committed before Brown could decide, and he ended up at BC. Brown did pretty well for his first college start at NIU last week. 29-42 191 yards 2 TD 1 INT; 10 yards rushing. While Brown may have a good career at BC, hope Brown makes a couple freshman mistakes that WF can turn into points.

Given past history mack, I have trouble believing we'll score 31 points @ BC. But I'd agree that we win (we have to) and score more points against them than we ever have under Clawson.

Clemson is the only game I absolutely don't feel good about. FSU and Louisville are vulnerable. Tech and ND will be really tough road games. But I give us decent odds of getting one of them. Even if we don't, beat 2 of BC, App, and Cuse on the road and handle business at home (USU, State, and Duke) and we have 6 wins.

He missed some wide open targets against NIU, and looked ok otherwise.

Just kidding. We obviously won one of the ugliest games i have ever seen (outside of the Wake/Va Tech win). Winning on the road is hard, but winning ugly is better than losing.

Spoken like a true and experienced Wake fan. We'll take all the ugly wins we can get.

The line is down to BC -1. Over/Under is 47 (highest for a BC/WF game in a while). So, applying those numbers, the projected final would be a BC 24-23 win. Fully expect the game to be tight with turnovers and special teams (Dortch?) deciding it.

I hope Dortch can continue to make explosive plays when he is on the field with ACC-level players. He looked like a physical freak on Thursday, but I worry it will be a bit like when the Williams kid went crazy against Presby in 2013 and then faded into the background.

I still get nightmares of a then unknown QB named Matt Ryan absolutely torching us up there in the final 3 or 4 minutes

But I'll be in Alumni Stadium once again this Saturday....GO DEACS !

My biggest nightmare when playing @BC was Skinner fumbling it on the goal line to lose by like 1 or 2. Heartbreaking loss.

We've got a Jessie Bates for that.

Oh yeah....that's my #2 nightmare ! AIR, Skinner went one way and Pendergass(sp) went the other way....broken play game over.

What is it with dang Alumni Stadium ????

Yep, I was "lucky" enough to go to both of those games.

this Saturday we'll be singing a different tune. GO DEACS

26-42 so not quite that good, but still not at all horrible for a first start. He was inconsistent but from what I saw he looks like he'll be a step up from BC's rather low standard of QB play the last five years or so.

Glad we're getting him early.

Also promising sign BC's rather veteran O-line couldn't create much damage in the run game. Their top back needed 25 carries to muster a mere 58 yards

I have 2 tickets for Saturday's game which I will be unable to use due to Hurricane Irma bearing down on FL.

Section Q - Row 24 on the Wake side.

Hit me up if interested.

We gonna pick this QB. He's gonna look just like Wolford three years ago. Hurries, sacks, picks. Deacs gonna blow him up.

Let's assume for a moment he had come to Wake. At best he would be our third QB. More likely a redshirt. So consider that. Of course he could be that one in a thousand QBs that are great as a freshman. I highly doubt it.

Wouldn't his redshirt year have been last year?

Assume if he had come, he would be in the mix for our QB position. But he hasn't shown yet that he would have been a starter. Our QBs looked good last week- lets hope it continues
