Bullshit Trump Says

It's amazing how consistently wrong one family and party can continue to be about literally everything.

Does Junior mean that he bets most hadn't heard of the FCC or net neutrality (or both) before this week? I'd wager most people under the age of 35-40 know what net neutrality is.

That entire tweet is just...wow.

Also, where do libertarians stand on net neutrality? I assume they're against it?

IIRC, we had a pretty good discussion on here 18-24 months ago about net neutrality and most everyone, regardless of ideology or political party, was in favor of net neutrality. The only real issue as I recall was older posters (and I don't mean this in a derogatory way - simply as a descriptor) weren't entirely sure what it was but after others explained it also expressed support for net neutrality.

I'll see if I can find that thread. I'd imagine several conservative posters have changed their tune now based on the recent politics.

my BIL who doesn't really know anything and mostly posts tinfoil hat conspiracy shit on FB is for the move to end it. I read an article he posted yesterday and basically the gist was a) don't need no gubmint regulation, b) people talk about throttling of websites but it hasn't happened before so obviously we should trust ISPs won't do it, and c) cheaper internets !

Also this whole thing seems like a solution in search of a problem. Was anyone taking to the streets (other than telecom lobbyists) in opposition to net neutrality demanding a change? If so I sure didn't hear about it.

I thought throttling did happen before. Wasn't Comcast exposed for doing this in the mid-2000's?

I think it comes down to the government regulation aspect. Even if the "regulation" is basically "we're not going to regulate it beyond ensuring neutrality," this must be too much regulation for conservatives.

The GOP is circling the drain and we need it as a party to die and reincarnate as a group of people with pragmatic ideas instead of an Ayn Rand wet dream utterly detached from all sense of reality.

it mentioned Comcast. basically it was like -- big deal, so it happened once in the history of the internet.

all my BIL's posts are basically "if only the liberal sheeple knew the TRUTH about X..." and it's the same for net neutrality. we're all being conned.

How naive do you have to be to trust telecom companies like Comcast or Spectrum not to screw you as a consumer?

Is the whole GOP just made up of gullible idiots?

+1 This falls under the never do something for free if you're good at it. Now they're just trying to figure out how to get paid.

yeah or people saying why do we need to government to tell GM Ford and Boeing to make safe vehicles? if they're unsafe the market will just not buy them !

The bullshit is flowing fast and hard today.

Trump Jr. unknowingly eluded to this in his tweet. "Nobody was even talking about this...until we completely ****'ed it up." In the Trump-verse, if nobody is talking about it, they had better break it. The Trumps are literally professionals at creating hype around issues, then they complain about all of the hype around issues.

Trump and Fox News should just take truth and reality out behind the barn and shoot it with the guns Obama took away. FFS, they aren't even trying to be accurate about a single fact anymore. If you're connections to the outside world are these channels, I honestly feel scared by and sorry for you.

Donald's average approval rating tied its lowest yet from 538 earlier this week at 36.7%, including a Monmouth poll which has his approval rating at just 32%. 538 gives Monmouth an A+ rating for its polling.
