SEASIDE, Calif. — A teacher who also serves as a reserve police officer accidentally fired a gun inside a Seaside High School classroom Tuesday, police said, and three students were injured.
Dennis Alexander was teaching a course about gun safety for his Administration of Justice class when his gun went off at 1:20 p.m.

Alexander was pointing his gun at the ceiling when it fired. Pieces of the ceiling fell to the ground.

A news release from the Seaside Police Department said no one suffered "serious injuries." One 17-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries when fragments from the bullet ricocheted off the ceiling and lodged into his neck, the student's father, Fermin Gonzales, told KSBW.
 
Jesus. Arming teachers and adding more guns to schools is such a ridiculously dumb idea.
 
It's not like kids would ever get a gun away from a teacher or that a teacher might freak out or that in a hallway with kids and a shooter that the crossfire created by teachers with guns would cause more deaths.

+1 it is quite possibly the dumbest idea from a possibly dumbest president. Dumber than W, imo, and that is bottom Of barrel.
 
I think the crazy right talking tough worked much better when the left was in the White House. Now that the pendulum is swinging back the other way from crazy Trump, this tough talk is going to sound less honest/genuine and more....crazy. I don't think the NRA being abrasive is going to resonate as well in the current social and political environment. They need to change strategy or they may be about to bury themselves.

I hope they do bury themselves. As much as I despise Trump, a major silver lining is that he has caused so many crappy things about this country (guns, sexism, racism, inequality, corruption, etc) to be brought to light and has galvanized so many people to do something about it.

I think this is a really interesting point that doesn't get enough play. Obviously the Right thought Obama was the antichrist, but my sense is that at least there was a feeling that he was a well-measured, intelligent, almost dispassionate guy; while with Trump the feeling is this guy is a dumb, boorish, impulsive lunatic so we better go out there and do something about it ourselves.

God, fuck them forever. I hate the NRA so much. Last night at the restaurant we play trivia at there was a woman in a NRA hat and you could just tell she was waiting for people to confront her about it.
 
To the NRA the ability to sell a gun to felons on Craigslist or at a gun show or from your home outweighs the lives of innocent children.

yeah Ive seen a few TShirts around lately. I'm convinced these gun goobers think the NRA logo is some kind of crime deterrent to protect them from all the bogeymen behind every tree that are about to kill them at all times cause they are so goddamned important and whatnot
