Official 2018 NBA Offseason Thread: the preseason cometh

Somehow this. I feel like I am watching an elite rec league player dominate without breaking a sweat. Still capable of olay defense at times as well.

[Redacted] should give that guy a talking to.

and yet still kinda not that fun to watch

I think his handle/dribble/shotmaking is so outrageous that its become fun to watch to me. Who breaks the game more, Steph with his range or Harden just being unguardable on both threes and drives to the lane?

Rap vs. Rock (or ptors vs. kets) could be an entertaining final.

LeBron has been silly good this year too. Cavs missing 5 dudes tonight, playing two G league guys, and he puts up 35 points, 7 boards, 17 assists and 0 turnovers on 11-19 shooting in the win against the raptors.

I went to the drew league and saw Harden super up close

His handles and shot making are amazing and he's huge

Would like to see him and Kyrie play horse

It’s nuts. All I can think of is Kawhi has some psychological issues related to his injury.

Yeah. I think both teams healthy with Rox having home court is a toss up (due to the Dubs playoff experience). Don’t think the Dubs can survive the loss of Steph, KD, or Draymond if Rox stay healthy.

And Harden has the MVP all but wrapped up. I know voters don’t want to vote for him but if he senses that AD or Lebron are getting close I fully expect him to go for 70+ against the Kings on the last day of the season.

i bet you $100 straight-up that if GS and HOU play healthy the Dubs win.

Let me sleep on it but I’ll probably do that. Would want a definition of “healthy” though. If PJ or Iggy miss time is the bet off? Cook or Gerald Green? What if Steph or Chris play but are clearly dealing with a bum ankle/knee?

Dude, I can tell you haven't been around much. Just stop. Don't go any further.

I want to see Harden takeover an elimination playoff game against the Warriors or another high quality NBA team. He has been the best regular season player in the NBA for the last two years, and I know his teams have not had the talent of the Warriors (or arguably the Heat when he was in OKC), but last year, the Spurs who were good, but not massively more talented than the Rockets, embarrassed Houston in the semifinals. In game 6 at home, the Spurs won by 39 and Harden scored 10; he shot 2 for 10 from the field. Harden looked like he didn't want to play, in the Rockets most important game of the season; the soup wasn't stirred. He needs to erase that stigma. Not saying he can't; he just hasn't been transcendent, or anything close to that in the playoffs.

This. Kawhi missed that game too as I recall only to come back and then get taken out by Zaza a week later.

Iggy shooting 26% from three kills the death lineup. Draymond's shooting 30% as well, and is past his prime.

Yep. I firmly believe the Spurs basically stayed put in the offseason because they beat the Rockets handily without Kawhi and were thumping the Warriors with Kawhi until he was injured.

And they'll probably stay put this offseason because they'll end up with 47-50 wins and a playoff spot without Kawhi.

Is Kawhi turning his back on your Spurs your biggest sports betrayal ever? You have at least 1,200 posts praising Kawhi Leonard on the NBA threads.
