BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

Why, this is more entertaining than folks trying to exaggerate whatever positive traits our latest sub 300 recruit allegedly showed in some grainy video.

I have no idea if this kid is going to be any good (although I think it unlikely) but someone who is a coach (and has watched him many times) told me I was wrong about him not being a good shooter, so I guess we will see. :noidea:

I’m the only one willing to talk about the X. You got the right answer for the wrong reason. I got the wrong answer because of a reason I always admitted was possible.

Some people claim the Sun rises in the East everyday because God wills it. The Sun rising in the east this morning didn’t prove them right. This isn’t lawyering, it’s basic logic.

So one of us was right, and one wrong. Got it.

On the subject of recruiting I will say that I am strangely curious about what Andrien White is going to provide us. Low expectations so I’m hoping he will surprise a bit.

He's kind of forced to play since he seems to be the only backup for Brandon. That being said, he looks good in practice so far so he is going to be better then most expected.

Yeah I agree, I just think he’ll perform relatively well in those minutes. Chill should be the point for 28-30 minutes a game at least so he’ll have the opportunity for sure

Team Takeover lost their 1st game of the year at Peach Jam yesterday. Vernon Carey's Nike Team Florida knocked them off. Anthony Harris didn't have the best game, but 2020 C prospect Hunter Dickinson looked good.

For some reason, I feel good about Dickinson. I guess it's because Wake has had a pretty long string of recruiting good bigs.

Lewis was the guy committed to State that was a 4* at one point, right? Did he get injured or just drop in the rankings?

Yeah that’s the guy. I believe he was top 50 before getting injured enough to not play for almost 2 years

Lewis has a beaut of a stroke on his jump shot. Now whether he'll be able to get it off comfortably in ACC comp is another question. But I'm hopeful that he will be able to provide adequate back up mins for Childress. Speaking of whom, his jump shot looks considerably better with no hitch at the top like last year when it seemed like he was sort of "shot-putting" his release to give it elevation.

And whilst on the topic of jump shots, Sharone's is much smoother and consistent than I realized. I think he could be sneaky good in a couple years. Hell, he may wind up getting more mins than anyone expects due to his size, likely foul trouble for some of our young frosh who will play a bunch and our lack of size in the back court if Chaundee has to play more 3 than 2.
