'17 Specials & '18 Midterms Thread

You have got to be kidding me. OWGs? You couldn’t walk into a WFU frat house in the 70s on a Friday or Saturday without getting a pretty good contact high. And you were likely to be passed a joint at any concert arena back then.

Not Sigma Chi...KAs and Kappa Sigs were pretty closeted about pot. The two biggest were PIKA and Lambda Chi during my years. SigEp would probably get the bronze.

You needed a miner's helmet with a light on top to traverse the guys floor of New Dorm that was near College Dr. The Bobbys (DeacRef - not TheReff) were the only two people on the hall who didn't participate in the Year One of New Dorm.

What kind of dork offers an expose on which fraternities smoked dope 40+ years after the fact ?

I don't think Beto makes Texas purple, any more than Doug Jones made Alabama a purple state. Its one specific election. What happens when Texas doesn't run a toilet clog blob fish for Senate, but an actual human being with human blood.

Republicans prefer to vote for reptilians so the jokes on you.

49% of people in my age group have tried marijuana. How different do you think that is from millennials? Where’s the category “Used to occasionally smoke marijuana but no longer do”.? That would describe over half of my contemporaries at our tailgate on Saturday. With a drug test as a pre-requisite for employment, I would imagine a lot of people who were occasional users in college stopped smoking after graduating.
Most good jobs outside of healthcare don’t require a drug test as a pre requisite, just an FYI.

I’d love to see some stats on that. The last two corporate jobs I took were in building products and data center services. Both required a drug test. Prior to that, I was offered a job with a telecommunications company, which also required a drug test.

i bet MDMH got a huge boner when Pelosi said this:

We will strive for bipartisanship, with fairness on all sides. We have a responsibility to find our common ground where we can, stand our ground where we can’t, but we must try. We’ll have a bipartisan marketplace of ideas that makes our democracy strong. A Democratic congress will work for solutions that bring us together, because we have all had enough of division. The American people want peace. They want results. They want us to work for positive results for their lives

Yeah there are two things House Democrats should work ok that people voted on, one healthcare, try to strengthen what we have especially pre-existing condition laws or introduce the favored Medicare for all and let every republican vote against it over and over again. Two be a check on Donald trump but don’t play into his games that strengthens his support, but number one should be the priority!

He already had one from Claire losing. That's the only thing that mattered.

Yep, I bet he is celebrating a new US Senator who sued the government to take health insurance away from tens of millions of Americans. That will teach those people not to be sick or not have enough money to pay for insurance.

MDMH fully supported putting such a person in the Senate over someone who voted 100% to help cover those with pre-existing conditions and subsidies for those who need help to pay for insurance.

MDMH supported electing someone who will happily march in lockstep with and vote for Mitch McConnell's promised cutting of Social Security, Medicare and Medic-Aid to pay for a tax cut for the rich.

stahhhhhhp

It's 1000% the truth. It's a binary decision. By opposing McCaskill, not voting for her, a person who is infinitely worse is in power for the next six year. You can hem and haw all you like but beating down the support and vote for McCaskill guaranteed a pure Trumpee, who will vote in lifetime judges and worse is now in power.

doesn’t mdmh live in nc?

He openly and constantly opposed McCaskill. Connecting with people, talking openly about this is not good. MHB lives there and promoted opposing McCaskill as well.

Didn’t MHB vote for McCaskill, though?
