Guess the date/time of Manning’s firing/resignation

A good time to "announce" it could be right after the games on Wednesday or Thursday. That would be burying the story in a bunch of other stories.
 
Looking at the dates of the ACC tournament in 2014, it ran the 12th to the 16 (Wed to Sun). [Redacted] was fired the week after on Thursday.

Thus, I am going to update my pick to Thursday March 21 @5pm.

Just heard from a very good source that it won’t be any earlier than March 2020. Said the school can’t afford the buyout until it significantly drops after next season.

I hope that’s wrong.
 
There is zero chance Manning returns for next season. Any money “saved” from the buyout would be lost many times over through lost ticket sales, concessions, donation, etc. It is truly critically time sensitive to bring in a new coach immediately to hopefully get recruiting back on track and re-energize the fan base. We are on the brink of the program being essentially permanently relegated to irrelevance.
 
I guess they'll have to decide which they can afford more. Danny's buyout, or another year of a rapidly declining basketball program.
