Game of Thrones - House of the Dragon - (and beyond) Discussion (spoilers allowed)

For those that looked at the leaked info referenced a few pages back, was it accurate?

Did not like bran as king but its easy enough to argue he said no to winterfell because he knew he was heading to be king.

They never said jon was the real heir so he had to be punished by the lords for appearances. Good to the end that Jon snow. I assumed he arrived at castle black only to realize the nights watch was still divided about him after the wildlings. Makes no sense after fighting the dead but whatever it meant they just allowed him to pass through on his way north. Maybe ygritte has a sister.

The best part about losing winterfell is that they have to change up their religion. Need that 6 pointed star now.
The 7 pointed star didn't have a lot to do with the 7 kingdoms. It was the religion that the targs brought over from valeriya, I believe. All major houses adopted the religion apart from the starks, which still prayed to red leafed trees that somehow never went bare in winter.

I could imagine queen Sansa on the iron throne as a better ending.

Maybe even with Tyrion as king.

Or, of course, Jon. [ETA I mean as king not with Sansa as queen.]

If he wasn’t the one what killed Daenerys.

Arya spent all that time learning how to put on faces and never used it during the last season? Why?

Are we just to assume Jon turned himself in? Cause there were no witnesses and Drogon took her body away

Lots of narrative issues this season, but I'm OK with this. It fits Jon's character to leave the throne room, present himself to GW, and confess to the crime.

Jon speaking for the audience a few times...

“It doesn’t feel right” (killing Dany).

“There’s still a night watch?”

I’m not saying it doesn’t fit, I’m saying we really can’t show that for 5 secs?

Targs married bros and sisters. It was the andals that were religious zealots. Carving 7 point stars in themselves etc.

I was just making a joke about 7 vs 6 and the potential confusion for the average Westerosi.

my last thought is...Bran has absolutely no army. Danny's group left, the North left, who is left?

Yep - Bran has no army, and as Sansa is asking for North independence, Yara and the guy from Dorne, both with actual armies, are just completely cool with being under no army Bran's rule? No.

I was glad it was spoiled for me, because as I was watching I was thinking it wasn't so bad. But it doesn't hold up well at all on reflection.

why didn't bran just tell everyone he was going to be king so just go ahead and stab Dany and save like a billion lives

The king choosing scene I thought opened up for a pretty good joke.

Sam Tarly - aye. Edmure - aye. Dornish dude - aye. Yara - aye. and so on and so forth. Sansa - we're just going to be an independent nation. Everyone else immediately after that, "oh so that was a possibility? DAMMIT"
