Jonjoe Kenny going from Everton to Schalke on loan. Hooking up with David Wagner.
 
Sweet, reading up about Kenny reminded me that we have a Euro U-21 tournament this summer, probably the best soccer tournament there is.

Bizarre. Our only cover at RB where we have an old, often injured Seamus Coleman. Guess that means we'll buy over top of him. Shame, I really like Kenny a lot.
 
Apparently the cover is Mason Holgate who played well at RB on loan at WBA last season.

Just feels like not playing him last season down the stretch was a huge missed opportunity when there was nothing else to play for. Something Silva keeps getting wrong.

Holgate possibly, but from what I've read Brands and Silva are targeting a young 19-22 year attacking RB to be Coleman's protege, who they would like to bring in this summer. I guess they feel that Kenny isn't attacking enough.

Better crosser of the ball than Coleman though! I think the knock is that he’s not as good defensively. He’s good on the ball and great from set pieces. He and Dowell took all the set pieces at the u20 World Cup England won.

I think Brands has a plan which really means cutting a bunch of dead weight as and when contracts allow and replacing them with young talent. They’ve apparently really heavily been scouting France, which I find very promising. Feels like Lille, Lyon, Nice, Nantes, even PSG are relatively untapped by the Prem given how much the rest of the world buys from them.

Released on a free a few days ago

Never recovered his pace in full from a bad knee injury.

I wish him luck in the Championship next season with whoever signs him.
