2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

yep

But none will unless they can take the senate (and overcome the filibuster) and WH.

Even better if somehow, someone were able to get something done in a bipartisan fashion, which seems impossible thx to Pubs (period).

I'm camp Anyone But Biden. I don't like his record, I don't like what he's currently campaigning on.

Since I'm not an election expert, I don't like trying to predict electability, and I think polls have shown to be misleading on candidates. I think Dem primary voters should choose the candidate they like the best, who best represents their political ideas or best interests, rather than focusing on who they think can beat Trump.

Beating Trump is all that counts. As bad and un-American as Trump has been, think of what he'll do if he doesn't have to worry about re-election and can play out the clock on his criminal acts. Re-institutionalizing and normalizing racism, hate, bigotry against the LGBTQ community and more would take decades to fix.

I've said for years that Dams shouldn't nominate any of the old candidates. My question is will you support Biden if he is the nominee?

When has this country not had institutionalized racism, hate and bigotry? The whole “this is not who we are” is a tired act.

If you can't understand that we are reverting to the worst place in decades, you aren't paying attention or aren't being honest.

Pretty sure his point is that thinking that the US ever went away from institutionalized racism and thus needing to “revert” back to it is in its own way not having paid attention

Never said that. We had made a lot of progress. Racism has always permeated our society. But since Trump it is becoming normalized and accepted again. We are "reverting" to the horrible days of the past. It must be stopped.

That's one poll. I have seen others more favorable to biden. If these progressive policies aren't winning the dem primary, how will they win the general.

I think we should probably slow our roll on what is and isn’t winning the Dem primary until maybe we actually have a primary/caucus

let's let it shake out then and advocate for voting in the primary based on the candidate that best aligns with one's values, progressive or otherwise, instead of some bogeyman "electability" in the general election, which seems to be your advice

A majority of the American electorate will not support a candidate who wants to immediately end all private insurance. They will support someone who says you can buy into Medicare at any age and it will cost you less without realizing this is a huge step towards getting rid of private insurance.

America loves Medicare, public schools and other socialistic programs, but they don't want hear that you want socialism.

okay then, that's fine

you can vote based on general election electability

i'll vote based on the candidate that best matches my values

I think that's where we've landed

Whoa. That’s just crazy talk.

Wait until we have a process?

I love this idea that a political message that’s like 99% white dudes mostly who went to a elite private school is a “progressive circle jerk.”

Easily falsifiable claim.
