Offical Sports Betting Thread

Yeah VPI opened -6.5 and Wake opened at like -3 before both lines got heavily bet to move it several points and later books setting the lines Sunday opened at the moved numbers.

Arizona State with the outright win as a dog last night. Should’ve trusted my gut and taken them ML.

Bear just noted on Gameday that the BC line is coming down like bettors have a hold of tomorrow morning’s paper.

Wake -5 now. I got BC earlier in the week +6.5.

The only reason that would happen is if jaybone was right to be worried about Newman but only public bettors know and the Wake community doesn’t.

You think that’s the only way we don’t cover the spread? If Newman is hurt?

No. I think the only way the line moves like that less than 24 hours before kickoff is if there is new information like a major injury.

Gotcha.

I just think it’s a high number for Wake on the road.

It’s not a big game, so I assume most of the action came in last night and today.

I wouldn’t read anything bigger into it. It’s not the NFL.

Good points.

Not a great Saturday...

Wins with BC & Utah
Losses with Clemson, Miss St, Nebraska, & UVA

Regretted the Miss St pick even before kickoff when I heard it was the books’ biggest liability of the day. Auburn was clearly the play there.

Not a big fan of the NFL slate today.

UVA is going to be the worst 10-2 team maybe ever. ND is the only team they play all year that will remotely sniff the top 25. Their other OOC games are Liberty, Bill & Mary and ODU, and they don't play us or Clemson. I know UVA has been down for so long, and folks around here are excited - I get it. But I'm sick of hearing how good they are because they're not. Perkins is the 1st good QB they've had in forever, and their D is solid, but they're just not 1 of the 25 best teams in the country. The only games remaining that should be remotely loseable are @Miami and @UNC.

Ouch on MSU and Nebraska. Auburn and OSU are for real, though Auburn probably faces the toughest remaining schedule in the country.

Why not an NFL slate fan today? I like Indy, Jax, KC and maybe NE with their lines.

I like NO MINN JAX NYG PITT ATL, but none of them strongly and all very much dependent on the number. Liked NE, but Edelman injury gives me pause there.

Need to do some work this morning.

Agree on Min, but wouldn't feel good about Pit and Atl b/c Cin and Ten are maybe the 2 most unpredictable teams out there.

General NFL trends if you haven't seen them.

Iowa State -3.5
Navy +3.5
GT/UNC U48.5
UGA -24.5
Tulsa +13
Cal/Oregon U46
Oregon -18

Interesting side note: Army has won 15 straight home games, and they are a dog at home to Tulane. Also, there are two option v. option games this weekend: Tulane @ Army and AF @ Navy. Those games strongly trend under.

Liberty (-5) at NMSU
Utah State at LSU Under 73.5
Memphis (-15) @ ULM
Ball State (+5.5) @ Northern Illinois
Auburn @ Florida (+130)
