NC State Game Time - Noon ESPN

I rarely have the ability to make it to games anymore and when I do it’s usually because I’m meeting up with friends so, admittedly, I put a lot of emphasis on our time together at the tailgate. Being there by kickoff is a secondary concern, but I’m always there early in the 1st quarter.

:rulz:

Yeah they should get time this week too if there are injuries. They get four games to play and we only have a maximum of six games left (realistically 5 since I don’t see anyway in hell we beat Clemson at Clemson on their senior night)

0 percent chance against Klempton (1 out of a million) hope they prove us all wrong

I mean it’s definitely better odds than that but yeah not great odds. Probably 6-8 percent

So Groulx is in the doghouse and Greene is frustrated on waiting until the final 4 games for playing time? Some redshirt freshmen WR are frustrated as well. We really don’t sub much at WR, so lots of talented guys are riding pine this year. And Delaney looks like he could play major minutes at RB or on defense for some teams. It’s hard to keep everyone happy as a coach when you have talented depth.

And Clawson can use Hines as a cautionary tale.

Yes. But Clawson uses this line: "All of our best players we've had, have redshirted" far more often than anything else for examples, and that's what Greene and Groulx, and whatever other redshirting players, will either realize or won't.

I mean ... Jessie Bates III, Greg Dortch, Phil Haynes, Jamie Newman, Cam Glenn, Justin Strnad, Justin Herron (the entire O-line for obvious reasons), Boogie Basham, Sage Surratt, Scotty Washington -- sure I'm missing a name or two, but didn't include guys like Serigne or Ejiofor who redshirted in Grobe's last season.

The exceptions aren't hard to find -- Wolford, Carney, Bassey, Colburn -- they're just far fewer when you go down the list of the best players Clawson has had.

Not just beating Clemson... to play 6 more we have to beat Clemson AND the top 4 team we’d play in the playoff game. So like 0.06% of playing 6 more.

Cue the dumb and dumber... “So you’re saying there’s a chance!!!”

I also doubt redshirting is a surprise to them. I suspect Clawson was honest with them about the likelihood of them redshirting and they knew who was ahead of them coming in. I don’t doubt they really want to play but they have guys like Surratt in their ear everyday about how it is worth it.

Well we play six more if we win out the regular season (ACCCG plus bowl) but yeah very low odds.

Clawson isn't much focused on stars and I'm certain the kids were before they entered this program. Now they know it is irrelevant once you step on campus.
i predict all will be well with these 4 star recruits. Funny how posters refer to rumors about this kid or that kid. More than half the time such rumors don't pan out. I doubt seriously that either WR is in peril of losing their good opportunity at WF. Next year WF will be depending on these guys pushing on the veterans every day, and I would seriously think they get the job done.

It is also difficult to quantify the collateral damage that Wellman/[Redacted]/Manning have done to the entire athletic department. When I get a call or email from the Deacon Club or a ticket rep and my first and only reaction is to tell them to go fuck themselves, I'm not going to suddenly reverse course and go back to that person or department for football tickets. I have season tickets for the Hornets, and through work we have a suite for the Panthers and suites at Keenan and Carter-Finley. There is absolutely no reason I/we should not have a whole bunch of tickets at Groves. Except that Ron Wellman can eat a dick.

What a crock of shit.

Way to stick it to our former AD by not supporting the nationally ranked football program!!! You showed Wellman who's boss!!!

Danny Manning is STILL our basketball coach. Fuck the Wake Forest Athletic Department. I'll watch on TV.

They're in a good situation aren't they? I mean Scottie and Kendall are seniors, so that 2 sports open going into next year. Sage could leave, that would make 3 spots. So, there will be opportunities for them to take those spots next year and they pretty much guaranteed to have a good QB throwing them the ball. Probably Jamie, Sam if Jamie would leave. They are getting to redshirt this year, get stronger, used to the college level and will have opportunities to get on the field next season.

Perhaps you could organize a #ManningOut protest at the Joel?? Rumor has it some posters on ogboards.com were very successful with an in-game protest during the Bz years.

What does Manning's incompetence and our admin's mismanagement of basketball have to do with the football program? You prefer both programs to suck?

Any frustration from Greene and Groulx may be because they’re the highest rated Wake recruits ever and an unheralded RB is getting reps behind a senior and leading the team in rushing. They just want to show what they can do. Hopefully our starters can put a hurting on Duke and Cuse and Clawson will give Kern more chances to run the offense with the young players.

Yeah. Look it up. Walker (54 car, 383 yards) is tied with Carney (99 car, 383 yards).

Yeah, but there is a bigger need for Walker to play, then Greene and Groulx. I not saying we shouldn't try to get them game action under the new redshirt rule, but it could also be a case where the coaches maybe feel they just aren't physically ready and if they play and get hurt that would be really bad.

I'm still bummed Mike Allen hasn't progressed like we expected. Hopefully Greene and Groulx don't follow a similar trajectory. Plenty of time.

Well in fairness to Allen, he has been asked to switch from DE to DT. I'm hopeful maybe he ends up back at DE and the move was just for this year since we were a little thin at that position coming into the year. I still think he could make a mark for us.
