Duke Game Time - 7:30 ACCN

618 yards of and 39 points talk offense. Not to be out done, the defense keeps Duke to 290 yards, forces three turnovers and limits the damage to 13 points. Special teams weren't special.

Mark Richt just gave his weekend game ball to Nick Sciba for setting a new NCAA record of 31 straight field goals. His 12 points tonight were the margin of the Deacon's victory. Richt makes the smart selection.

Leading rusher with 6.5 ypc vs 3.8/

After this game:

Walker - 80 carries, 523 yards (6.5 ypc
Carney - 131 carries, 502 yards (3.8 ypc)
Newman - 217 carries, 440 yards (2.0 ypc)

The entire first half was a bone drenching rain in the forties. I was wearing ski pants and jacket and was still miserable by halftime. I cannot fault people for not going tonight - young kids, senior adults. The few young families I saw there had to give up pretty quickly. On the other hand, I.barely have a voice left (and I’m not so young myself )

I am glad I went, but that was some miserable shit particularly in the 1st half.

Hinton taking snap there was perfect. No issue with that. I’d like to see more of that actually if they insist on direct snapping to someone other than Jamie. Hinton could even throw occasionally.

I don’t disagree. In games where the O can’t get moving, we have to get the ball in his hands anyway we can.

Say it louder for the people in the back! We’ve got a star in the making.

He has that running back vision to see where the hole will be.

Now he needs to get his pass protection up to his running. Once that happens, he will be the starter at RB.

He’ll be the starter next year if he’s healthy

Cutcliff after halftime: "get ready for for this" or something like that.. fuck you, you old dirty fuck.

cutcliffe is going to pull a Grobe, and ride the Duke program into the ground. Hopefully Duke gives him the time to do it like they have with there soccer coach.

This is correct. Duke was within 20 points due to our coaching. You can say good or bad. Yes we won. But jeez some bad decisions on our side.

Also just got back from game and the douchebag Duke asst with the long hair and shitty mustache: you are a pussy and it’s pretty lame how many times you gestures at fans in the stands at us without backing it up. We would have beat your ass.

Oh nice you must be in my section.

That guy was a doooooosh. Even came back to that well once we clinched the game and was gesturing for fans to come down to him.

Seems evident that cutcliffe just preaches Wake hatred all week and the rest of the staff and team lap it up.

Can anyone answer: It didn't end up becoming an issue, but the commentators mentioned that our delay of game on the 2 point conversion was because Clawson was arguing that he wanted the ball spotted on the left hash and not the middle of the field. The commentator continued to say that on a 2 point conversion, the ball can be spotted anywhere between the hashes. I have never heard this rule, and can't find anything online. Maybe #TheReff can weigh in?

Walker needs to get 80% of all carries going forward. Did CBS play tonight? I don’t recall him getting the ball.

Donovan Greene's one handed catch late in the 4th qtr. was classic Surratt IMHO. If Sage returns for one more year and Greene will make for some great entertainment.

Preparation is the key. I had on thermal bottoms, 2 pairs of fleece pajama bottoms and rain pants, wool socks and Hiking boots, thermal shirt, long sleeve tee, thick fleece pullover, heavy winter Wake coat, ear muffs, toboggan, gloves of course and the biggest key...... a big nice Wake parka that basically served as my own personal tent. Biggest challenge, going to the bathroom with all that crap on.

I mentioned in another thread that I spoke to Richt in the Atlanta airport a little over a week ago. Asked him how he was feeling (after his heart attack) - he said pretty good. Told him I missed seeing him on the Huddle, and especially appreciated his mostly positive comments about Wake. Said he would be returning to the show soon. He did.
Seems like his energy level is still a little low.

Before his heart attack Richt did not look well. Overweight, puffy and swollen looking. Last PM looked much better like he lost 25 lbs or so. Doc probably has him on a strict diet regimen.
