The 2019 College Football Thread ! LSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS ! CLEMSON SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!

Just goes to show how good Dabo's got it right now. He's got a cakewalk to the ACCCG if he can somehow get past the rest of the division. Crossover games in 2020 are UVA and Ga Tech. Only tough game on their schedule is at ND on 11/7.

Those FSU fans are nuts btw. Clemson has had three straight outstanding quarterbacks and has beaten FSU the past five years. FSU still has talent and I think they can make a quick improvement, but they're not competitive with Clemson right now and won't be just because Lawrence moves on.

Yep. Among other elite recruits in Clemson's current recruiting class is #1 rated pro-style QB DJ Uiagalelei from CA. He was offered by LSU, Bama, UGA, FL, FSU, Michigan, Texas, etc. He is 6-4.5 and weighs 246. He will be ready to step in when Lawrence leaves.

That said, you forget that Clemson travels to Groves next year....

I feel like we've reached a point where Bama, Clemson, and OSU are going to be elite each and every year unless something big changes, i.e. coach retiring/leaving or NCAA sanctions. OSU probably closer to Oklahoma, LSU, and UGA than Bama/Clemson in that next tier, especially until they win again/Day proves himself more. Not sure anyone else is really close to those 6 programs right now.

Did you see anything that would suggest the ACC is going to have a bounce back year next year ? Who do you expect to be better than mediocre next year ?

UVA was the #2 team and they lose their starting QB who dragged them to the ACCCG.

Maybe Va Tech. Louisville has a lot of room for quick improvement.

FSU could win 9 games next year maybe.

Miami finished its season losing to FIU, Duke, and La Tech.

UNC-CH looks to have the second best QB in the league next year (even if Newman was coming back to Wake).

I look for Louisville to be the next team in our division to be able to challenge Clemson. I know UNC will be good with Howell at QB nd the recruits that Mack is bringing in. UVa is losing Perkins but hard to say if anybody else is really ready to challenge the Tigers. This year our 2nd best teams all had at least 4 losses. That is NOT good.

The big surprise of the game was how good LSU's defense played. Clemson's only real drives were aided by trick plays and penalties. LSU's defense played monster all game. That was a complete effort by LSU after they got field position in the first half. I'd certainly put them in the top 10 all time great college teams. Clemson was a very good team this season. But LSU was great, and head and shoulders above the rest in DEC and Jan.

May be the greatest season ever had by LSU this year. I can't remember when I have seen a team beat 7 Top 10 teams in one year EVER and that is what LSU did and that is what the teams were ranked when they played them--Texas, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma & Clemson.

Big night for South Carolina. Their rival loses and they get to collect their 11th national championship since 2000.

It goes without saying that those two videos will help with recruiting.

Meh, in 2001 I didn't see how Miami would ever drop off. In 2006 I didn't see how USC would ever drop off. It's all cyclical.

Nobody would've put LSU in that group before this year. 4 of those 6 teams lose their starting QB next year. UGA loses its QB, top RB, top WR, and 4 starting OL.

Where does LSU rank among greatest teams ever? It's without debate the greatest QB season ever.

Georgia will still be the most talented team inthe SEC East next year.

will be interesting to see how LSU looks next year losing Burrow and probably Brady too.

I didn't think about it until now, but yeah Joe Burrow just had the greatest college QB season ever. I feel like this isn't being mentioned enough.

Burrow will be coached up by former WF (and Nebraska) QB Zach Taylor.

Who, it's possible, is in over his head. It doesn't help that the Bengals are just a disastrous organization though. That said, if last year's 1st round draft pick OL can play, AJ Green returns (who knows) and they make a couple other moves on the line, the offense could be an okay place for Burrow to be.

Dalton wasn't having a bad career until things started crumbling around him. AJ Green missing half of the season two out of the past three years obviously doesn't help.
