KP Report - VT Hokies - Tuesday 9 pm - LJVM - ACCN

Childress had 12 points in the last 4:30 of the game. Racer’s comment is 100% accurate.

Was this one of the 4 games we had a shot at winning? I can’t find the post with all the win probabilities listed and I can’t remember if this was one of the few where we had over a 50% chance of winning.

No.

Out of boredom I did a quick rundown of the remaining schedule. The BPI has us as a favorite in 4 remaining games vs BC (78%), Clemson (51%), UNC (52%), and GT (54%). From this, it looks like Danny Manning is far from avoiding another 20 loss season. He'll need to win all of these (I highly doubt he will win on a Tuesday in the ACCT) to avoid that dubious 20 loss season for the...

Hell I've lost track of his total of such seasons.

It's possible we've slipped so we're not slight favorites in those 3 games anymore.

I saw some commentary on Facebook about how only one bathroom and concession stand were open?

Manning, instead of Alicia Silverstone, should have been cast in the movie Clueless. He truly is worse than Beezledick

Looks like our crack half time adjustments did not include instructions to box out 6’2” Ty Redford.

Redford pulled down 13 rebounds. That’s just desire and hustle.

Goofball Manning is to blame.

Gotta cut costs to afford Manning. I'm sure Keeper will be over on Facebook defending the official attendance number.

It was apparently a joke two people mentioned it so I was wondering if it was serious.

While it was a joke, I noticed in my last year of attending games (2017-18) that concessions were being trimmed back. The draft beer concession near the main gate is one that I remember - only one keg or sometimes not even open.

I only watched some of the first half last night. Turned the game off at halftime. I checked the score this morning and see we lost by 10. I’m thinking.......if Chaundee played and scored 11, would we have won?

Will Chaundee ever play for us again??

This is Scotty Washington injury deja vu all over again. :tard:

Stater of the obvious, but Mike Young can flat out coach. VT off a sweet 16 appearance loses their coach, all 5 starters, and a reserve or two and they are 13-4. A lot of folks passed on Mike and he is proving them to be idiots. I know Wake never looked at him even though Wofford and Wake have a lot in common.

If I am Currie, this is the deal breaker no matter what the $$$ is. VT had no business winning this game but did not because they had better players, but a far better coach.

Freakin' V tech
At Home
by 10 (really worse)
First year coach with lots of new players
Thanks, Wellman

VT's players of the game were both Buzz recruits who redshirted last year. Radford was not highly recruited. Coaching does make a difference. The Radford dunk over Sarr was described as VT's play of the year by one Hokie.

If last night wasn't a deal breaker, maybe Sunday will be. Wake will be 7 or 8 point favorites in the easiest game left on the schedule and will find a way to fail.

Cruel and unusual punishment for the fans.

I attended last night. Currie was sitting a few rows behind me. He kept pretty quiet but you could tell he was definitely locked in to the "game".

IN the first half we managed to keep it close because of Childress on the bench and Sarr actually taking some shots inside. He would be immediately double (or even triple) teamed and would do his best to kick it out. Some of those kickouts actually turned into made outside shots, particularly from White. He had 12 in the first half, and then he sat for much of the beginning 2nd half.

It was quite the juxtaposition of coaching. The VT coach was all in and talking to his players. Manning doesn't correct players as they come off the court. If they make a mistake or commit a foul, they are immediately substituted (within reason) and there is little to no on-court discussion as to why or what they could've improved. You know, coaching. Walters is quite vocal and actively coaches.

We make poorly executed, cross-court passes that are easy to pick off. These mistakes would never be verbally addressed in-game. VT had 9 steals by mid 2nd half. NINE steals with about 15 minutes left in the game. We have no offensive identity. High screen, an occasional roll, a lot of pick and pop, find your own shot. Also, plenty of opportunity for the patented Childress/Johnson "head down, drive to the basket" with 2-3 defenders waiting for you.
