c9++ Mafia Game Thread; TOWN WINS

gouda is telling the truth:
-da is civ
-gouda is 1-shot cop
-either bym or townie is bad

gouda is lying:
-da is some sorta civ special
-gouda is bad

da is literally the only guaranteed civ in play right now

we have two shots at this, and honestly i'm still having a hard time seeing the downside of checking gouda's claim first

(before anyone points it out, yes, there is a chance gouda is doing something monumentally stupid and lying as a different civ special, in which case gouda's honesty has no impact on da's alignment, but let's assume that gouda is not doing that here and instead treat da is guaranteed 100% clear)

If mafia knew how many times I missed protection in this game, they'd be kicking themselves.

***bym***

You had me fooled d1 bym, gj

Mafia has conceded.

bym, mafia goon, was lynched by the town.

Town wins!

RSF, gouda played his claim correctly.

This game was a good illustration of why killing confirmed civs is paramount in c9++ games. Eventually you get math'd out of the game as mafia if there are too many clear claims.

Yeah, we just did so poorly on our night hits that, even if we had only killed confirmed civs, I'm not sure we could have won.

It's hard to strike out that many times on night hits.

i felt in over my head the first few rounds for sure, my reads were wayyyyy off in a semi-open format

fun nonetheless, and rsf deserves a good deal of credit. gouda's tone change yesterday helped too. civ specials seemed to have played it well throughout.

You guys did well with what you had. DV7 getting run out of the gym late D2 was a disaster that was going to be tough to come back from no matter what. You needed his RB down the road.

Also, lol at civs that killed SD3 after he solo trained DV7. It would be one of the worst mafia plays ever if you are a goon/GF with no heat deciding that you want to randomly throw all your weight behind your RB when they are almost completely safe. SD3 should have been about as clear a civ as you could be without a cop investigation after D2.

This game also goes to show how good gouda can be when he tries hard. Really well played by the cheese.

I really messed up that analysis of Gouda. He was playing it straight the whole time. I was not aware of the idea that a 1 shot cop should claim full cop. When that claim was there, I couldn't get the math to work with the SK and RB.

Sorry about the long post that ended up being past night.

I almost did exactly what you did, Blue. Had a long post about WFU03 I was working on and thankfully did a quick refresh of the last page before posting.

In that post, also quoted this and wanted to give props.

this is all really good information. Maybe too good information. I think its all spot on and reads like mafia knowing the script and crafting the story to fit it. If timdunk turns up civ, dv7 is the place to look.

No worries, blue.
