2020 Democratic Presidential Primary

Your post shows how ethically (and morally) bankrupt claims of moral and cultural relativity

Child brides are still common in certain cultures in the US and abroad. I suppose that excuses Roy Moore from his indiscretions?

I think I accused you of faking being obtuse. I even said I refused to believe you are.
But, you do you, Bucky.

The whole issue of Biden with touching women's hair and backs to make them feel uncomfortable has been adjucated in the public sphere and he paid what the populace thought was the proper political penalty. A mea culpa where he's admitted that social mores have changed and he would change his behavior.

Same way it wouldn't be appropriate in the current times to write some weird rape fantasy and have it publicly distributed.

roughly what year did the uninvited touching of hair, thigh, or lower back of someone that wasn't your partner shift from being okay to not okay?

If you want a serious answer its more generational. Again the voting populace was informed, the issue was adjudicated and the appropriate political punishment was rendered.

Regarding Tara Reade's more damning allegations, there are enough inconsistencies and credibility issues there to drive a Mack Truck through them.

But hey, if you really believe her allegations and think Biden is a rapist, then you should stand by your principles and not vote for him.

The concept you and others are ascribing to Biden is ludicrous. He wasn't exerting power or dominance. If anything, he was showing equality and that he appreciated them helping him. There was never malice or a statement of power.

You can say a lot of things about Biden. He's not a Rhodes Scholar. He sucks at public speaking. He plays it safe too often and more. But no one has ever seen him as a sexual predator or one who intentionally makes women
feel uncomfortable. As soon as this became an issue, he apologized.

The more people on the left make this an issue. The lower the vote count goes. A low turnout, Dem infighting and "he's little different", the better chance Trump has.

I wish someone else was the candidate, but this is an egregiously BS way to attack him.

Coming into the this fall, I have voted in twelve presidential elections. There have been many bad choices. Things turned out poorly, but there has never been a more consequential election to the future of our nation in my lifetime than this one. You will deal the consequences a lot worse than I will.

These discussions are playing right into Trump's hands. It's more about your lives than mine. It's your choice. You should be spending this effort destroying Trump not helping him.

Bernie attracted plenty of "people of color. A majority of Latinos. Dominated among younger African Americans. Did very well among 30 and under Women. He didn't get swamped until middle-aged and older White and African American voters in the South stampeded to Biden after South Carolina and Rep. Clyburn's endorsement.
Not to mention, Obama's "encouragement phone calls" to Klobechar and Buttigieg got them to, at the very least, endorse Biden. Phone calls of which the news broke this week, mind you.
But you know all this already.

The are more younger people, more younger people of color and more young women than old. Why didn't Bernie win? Because he couldn't get them out to vote. That's on him and on them. No one else.

I won't disagree on turnout.
I'm Gen X and I got out. I had a shit ton of personal stuff to deal with and I still made sure I swung by the precinct. The cohorts behind me didn't come out as much as was needed. But, it's kinda disingenuous to claim they didn't at all... they just didn't do higher than 2016 numbers, at best.
[In fact, re-registering in NC was one of the first things I did when I moved back here.]
Believe it or not, regardless of all the bickering, arguing, debating, whatever you want to describe it, I actually agree with you: if the progressive/leftists they should stop with the excuses.
We're ALL busy, but employers *by law have* to let you go vote if you tell them. And, if you think you'll static over that? A minute and a half, two tops, spent online to request an absentee ballot. That's it. Some states [California, for example, which I bet RJ and I both know] will even let you *permanently* request absentee mail-in when you register!
So yeah, the "I'm too busy" bit does kinda stick in my craw.

Where did I say "at all" in the post you quoted? Please don't add things that change what I say.

You are correct about that in CA. They also added another offer for the primaries. You can vote at any polling place in your county. You don't have to vote at your local precinct. Also, polls were open many weeks/weekends and for many hours in advance of primary day.

Oregon is 100% mail-in vote. Over the past five presidential elections, they have averaged over 82% turnout with a high of 86.48% in 2004. Compare that to the 58.1% who voted in 2016 nationally.

It's pretty easy to see why Trump and Republicans are scared to death about mail-in voting. The lower the turnout, the better chances they have to win.

You're right Biden creating and jamming the Violence Against Women Ac through shows he hates women. His putting a law denying abusers of the right to buy guns doesn't protect any women. His support of the Equal Rights Amendment doesn't count either. His long-time support of pay equality doesn't count either.

He got criticized for pushing Obama into support marriage equality. He also voted for including gay bashing as a hate crime.

But fuck, he's Trump-lite to many here. The history doesn't matter.

I’m not disagreeing with most of this but didn’t SCOTUS effectively neuter VAWA in 2000?

Why did Bernie attract such toxic people, when he seems like a decent man?

Briahna is awesome. Not sure why you are labeling her "toxic."
