I hope that Tara Reade wasn't ever raped. I wish that Trump wasn't a rapist and that all of the assualt allegations against him were false. I don't ever, EVER find rape or sexual assault to be politically convenient. Its such a terrible act that it extends far beyond the boundaries of my political beliefs. I don't want anyone to be a rapist, especially not someone that's probably going to be the fucking President. Bernie Sanders has no chance of being nominated, and the continued allegation that I only believe Reade because of politics is incredibly insulting and shitty. I believe women by default when they make rape and assault allegations because it's an incredibly traumatizing and terrible ordeal to make those accusations, and throughout history, society has worked against these women in every way to discredit them and discourage them from coming forward. I haven't once called Joe Biden a rapist, because I don't know that he is, but I'll continue to give Tara Reade the benefit of the doubt because I don't believe she is lying.

The discussion here is actually pretty similar to the discussion in the feminist groups I’m in.

The tiebreaker for me about these allegations is that much of 2019 Republicans were doing everything possible to smear Biden and his family.

They didn’t bring up Reade.

From 2008-16, Republicans have latched onto any way out there conspiracy to take down the Obama administration.

They didn’t bring up Reade.

From 1991-98, Republicans were laser focused on Bill Clinton’s affairs and sexual assault allegations. The GOP branded themselves as the values party and Democrats as heathens.

And they didn’t touch the Reade allegations.

This isn’t a Kavanaugh situation where nobody but the legal community knew about someone and an accuser came forward as soon as he got into the public eye.

Joe Biden has been in the public eye before and since these allegations were first made in 1993. He was the VP of the United States. These allegations didn’t meet the very low bar for the conservative ecosystem to hype them up to take down Biden and it doesn’t seem the allegations stand up to the investigations we are seeing now.
