Rofl, I remember when I finally got one of those like 1 1/2 years after they'd actually been released. It was a solid phone, but I liked my Env2 a lot moar as a feature phone.

So just took the plunge and rooted my Droid X tonight.

So far I rooted, used Titanium backup, used Bootstrap (via Rom Manager) to back up the phone and am planning to load the CM 7.1 ROM once Titanium finishes.

Any suggestions for other root adventures or ROMs?

I disagree, but I more or less expected the Android crowd to immediately jump on with the "fanboy" stuff. Par for the course.
