F is for Fascism (Ferguson MO)

The mayor of Atlanta just issued a pretty strong statement condemning those who vandalized the CNN building.

Yeah there’s a huge difference in the sensationalism that comes from everyday programs that are basically opinion commentators like Maddow and Carlson in comparison to the men and woman that are reporting form the ground in sometimes dangerous situations to get people’s stories out to the public, this is for all news organizations from cnn to Fox News there are still real reporters doing an important necessary job.

The CNN Center is a pretty major landmark in Atlanta. No idea if it's a specific target. Wouldn't be surprised if there were a few people who think like Brews and took an opportunity to get a shot in though.

Cuomo did just say that the damage wasn't going to make a difference to CNN's goal.

This. I saw some assholes on Facebook cheering that Omar Jimenez was arrested because he's a member of the "Fake News" CNN. No. Just a man doing his job helping those of us around the world learn more about what's going on.

On another note, it looks like these protests are almost 100% a multiracial Gen Z coalition. It's a huge change from the Michael Brown and Freddie Gray protests in Ferguson and Baltimore for example.

Obligatory warning to everyone to remain vigilant about misinformation and trolls, especially on social media. There are undoubtedly foreign actors trying to pour gasoline on this situation right now.

CNN just replayed a scene in LA where a cop was bodying a skinny black guy in a hoodie. Several protesters tried to separate them and once they finally did, a white guy with a beard who looked like a civilian pulled the cop out and got him away from everyone else.

Cuomo portrayed it like a bunch of protesters were just wailing on a cop but it looked like any situation where two people are fighting and one is the clear aggressor and people are trying to break it up.

By the way, I'm glad Omar Jimenez is save and all, but it's getting pretty damn close to exploitative for him to still be out there reporting it and continuously recounting what had to be a traumatic situation. They could just let him go back to the hotel and replay him telling his experience.

I would have to see it again, but I think it was worse than you are depicting.
