Totally Unofficial 2019/2020 Premier League Thread (NWT)

Chupe think you could spare a sports scientist or two and send them across the park?

Because like half of our team is injured after a 3 month lay off. We're going to have to load the bench with U23s on Sunday. One or two might start.

Gotta go to the continent and get one of those guys who knows how to juice you up. I'd think Ancelotti, having worked at Milan and Bayern, would know what's up. Maybe he's making some moves. Maybe Hans Mueller-Wohlfahrt has a couple years left in him after retiring from Bayern and wants a transition job. He's almost 80, though.

Father of Liverpool season ticket holders Mike Dean will be in the center on Sunday.

Chris Kavanagh who gave Carlo a ridiculous red post match after stealing a draw for his beloved Mancs back in March, will be the VAR

LOL you have to hand it to the PL, when they want a result they are going to get their result.

**Mane scores to put Liverpool up 5-0 in the 25th minute**
Brasky: WELL! The fix is in!

Haha I thought about adding a similar qualifier. I know that it won't matter at all, I'm just constantly astonished about how openly corrupt the PL.

Best scenario would be Gylfi stamping of Mike Dean's achilles out of frustration, but sadly that Icelandic sloth could never catch him.

I was in India for the 96th minute Origi nonsense; I'd just gotten off 20+ hours of traveling, I was exhausted, it was after midnight, I ordered room service and sat down to watch the second half. After that goal, watching Klopp run on the field, I knew Everton were never getting a result against Liverpool again.

Also could go on the tunnels thread about activism in sports, but bravo Marcus Rashford for his campaign to save school lunches in the UK.

Very impressive from Rashford. It is great to see these athletes realizing how much power they have.

Yeah, Rashford's been doing some good shit. Well done, young man. There was a Mel Reddy piece I posted a week/month/lifetime ago that had some good info.

Good to see him using his platform and starting young.

Apart from that, very interested in seeing the Rashford/Greenwood combo develop in the coming years.

And I hate Mike Dean, so, yeah. But I'll take whatever help anyone gives. Time to wrap this up and give Harv, Curtis, and Takumi some run.

That being said, I know Everton hasn't beaten Liverpool in a while, but I want to say Goodison has still been pretty tough in the last decade.

Shit, we have SOCCER tomorrow, don't we? Come on my Blades and Come on my GOONERS!!!

Jamie Carragher had an interesting point re: Werner the other day. Werner makes sense to me over 5 years, but he made most sense over the next two, with the front three coming off playing a ton of soccer, getting a little older, and international competitions happening.

Now, the front 3 have had a 3 month rest, next season will be pushed back, and AFCON might be canceled/postponed, so suddenly minute opportunities dry up. I'm sure FSG were being somewhat tight, too, but I think it was a combo of a bunch of different things.

I am thinking now I want a TRIPLE SWOOP from Wolves - Adama, Ruben Neves, and Vinagre as a young attacking left back option. I don't think the staff believes Larouci is on the level of Neco Williams on the other side, though maybe Larouci can get some run in the remaining matches, as well.

I would be shocked if Wolves sell any player in the PL without getting a massive number for them. Their intention is to rival y'all, not to survive and become Soton.

Yeah, I'm mostly just talking shit, I think the double swoop rumor was bullshit to begin with, so I wanted to take it to the next level with a TRIPLE SWOOP. That's one swoop better than a double. And yeah, Adama + Neves would prob be 100mil + easy on its own, in the league.

Makes up for that one time when DCL threw himself at Lovren and got a penalty. Not sure who the ref was then, though.

Touche El Chupe, but that was a younger, more out of control DCL :plos:

But still fuck Mike Dean. Not sure how you assign the same guy, who lives in the city, to both derbies after he missed that clear pen in the first one.

So, predictably, the Newcastle "sale" is becoming pretty dramatic.

I don't have a NYT subscription, but from the pods I listen to the biggest stumbling block is not the humanitarian issue, but that the Saudis have been pirating PL games for years and the government has been complicit since they are stealing a Qatari feed. Of course its fucking TV rights, not genocide, that the PL is upset about.

It's all so shady. Staveley is shady, Ashley is shady, the Saudis are shady -- everyone involved is shady.

I'm not shady. Sell Newcastle to me. I've never committed any human rights atrocities, and I pay for NBC Sports Gold. I can help you find better players from MLS than Miguel Almiron too.
