F is for Fascism (Ferguson MO)

So 2&2 and Biff are complaining that people were killed, police don’t know who did it, but they’re trying to find out so they can arrest and charge them for it.

Others are complaining when people are brutalized and killed, police did it, and nobody is trying to arrest and charge them.

No, I'm complaining that BLM is happy to organize a protest concerning a black guy killed by a police officer 1,000 miles away, but when 4 black people are killed at a Juneteenth celebration down the street via 181 bullets fired into a crowd, BLM is nowhere to be found with their protests and calls for justice and change. It's like black lives don't matter when they don't coincide with BLM's political agenda. Which is fine, but then change the damn name from BLM to We Hate the Police.

Because what you and your racist buddies can't get through your skulls is that the government killing someone is grossly different than random acts of violence. If you can't understand the difference, there isn't much anyone can do for you.

Check out the front page of the NY Times website. Video and computer reconstruction of the Philly police trapping marchers on a freeway then cornering them on an embankment and firing tear gas into the crowd. They also walk up on people sitting in the street and pepper spray them.

I encourage you, once in your life, to leverage the powerful search engine Google.com

They will spend money in 2020 and 2021 lobbying for commonsense gun reform. But like always, 2&2, go off king.

I will say that it is pretty shocking the lack of media coverage of a mass shooting at a black cultural celebration compared to the coverage of the police brutality cases. It's all abhorrent, and I'm not minimizing the issues with law enforcement in this country, but gun violence continues to be a much larger issue, for all races. I like Biden's published plans for gun control, but have a hard time feeling confident he'll accomplish much given the lack of movement after Sandy Hook. Hope so.

It's hard for any news to break through during an election year pandemic. Honestly, I'm not even sure if the Arbery murder, Amy Cooper call, and George Floyd move the needle without each other. The 100,000 COVID death mark and the NYT front page was basically permission for media to start covering other stories. And it's sad but obvious to say mass shootings are pretty common nowadays no matter where they happen.

Refer to my post. What's there to protest? Police are trying to find the murderer. What would be the call for justice here? You're intentionally misunderstanding the movement.

There are already plenty of existing movements addressing gun violence, crime in black neighborhoods, gangs, etc.

BLM identify police violence and civilian violence as very different problems with very different solutions

it isn't hard to understand unless you don't want to

you can disagree on the analysis, but it's not a good faith argument to say "why doesn't BLM protest gun violence in Black communities?"

I understand the movement, I don't understand the name as it implies an objective that is shown to be much broader than the movement. If there are plenty of existing movements addressing gun violence, crime in black neighborhoods, gangs, etc., then those movements should be pissed at BLM for hijacking their social capital to apparently focus on a singular issue that is dwarfed in actual relevance by their issues.

In token DFL position. I'm glad that climate change and immigration are more important than shootings to making black lives matter.

Climate change will end more black lives than guns. Solidarity with immigrants rights is an issue that goes back to abolition.

Why aren’t pro-life voters protesting in support of BLM? Or does their name imply an objective that is shown to be much broader than the movement! I hereby demand that the pro life agenda respond equally to all topics conceivably related to their name.

This bad faith argument about BLM is right up there on same plane as the argument about Nazis being socialists just like Bernie Sanders because it's right there in their name. Same bullshit, gaslighting, bad faith arguing because the arguer doesn't want to hear what the movement in question has to say or be forced to confront the fact that they might have a point. As such, it is hardly worth engaging.

The left has also asked questions about where BLM money is going. There’s a difference between bad faith conservative conspiracies like Candace Owens claiming the money was going directly to Dem candidates because they use Act Blue and left organizers trying to vet whether it’s a good place for their constituents to donate towards their issues.

Time for the boss of the cops to be fired and indicted for assault, denying people their civil rights and charges the lawyers can find.

It's not just beat cops that need to start going to jail. Their captains and commissioners need to be held accountable as well.

2&2, does acting like a dumbass on the internet make you happy?
