VT @ WF — Saturday 3:30 RSN

Correct me if I’m wrong, but previously #5 UNCs best win came against this VT team without their starting QB.

Well now their best win came against a NC State team without their starting QB

An ESPN Top 25 takeaways write up by Harry Lyles Jr misspells Nick Andersen’s name, says he got 2 interceptions not 3, and links to a player named Nick Anderson from Iowa. How hard can it be to get basic things right?

And at least David Hale’s writeup got it right, except for misspelling the name in the title. But that could be written by someone else.

Hale says our beating #19 was the highest ranked opponent victory we’ve had since #16 BC in 2006? I did not realize that.

We did have a top 25 win in 2017 over 25 NC State....

UNC will be an extremely difficult game for us. They pass and run equally well. One of best QB chuckers in nation. May have best RB duo in nation.....yikes!

Deacs made an ass of me and happy to eat crow. Great win and great improvement across the board since the start of the year. LOVE beating Va Tech.

Virginia recruiting has gotten a huge boost in the last two weeks. And that's good. It's where UNC feasts when they are decent.

PFF has Roberson graded out as the best receiver in football for the second straight week.

what is the PFF methodology? see their grades referenced all the time.

regardless, roberson has been really impressive at getting open on short routes.

I don't know the metrics 100% (nor do I know if they actually release them all so I do take it with that caveat) but it has to do with positively altering down and distance when targeted, focuses on yards after catch relative to the "average" for a pass of that down and distance (and therefore explosiveness), plus values whether the receiver caught the ball in traffic.

I believe Roberson is graded so highly because he basically never drops the ball, frequently catches passes on critical third downs either across the middle with a guy or two right on him or down the sideline for a tough catch trying to get your feet down, and is also good at making the first guy miss when he does get the ball in open field.

Really nice to be 3-2 with two straight conference wins, and going into a game we should absolutely win against Syracuse. The team should be focused especially after last season.
