I don't think the Republican fractures are that deep. The few Republicans that speak out with conviction are quickly purged.
Junebug...is this normal?!?
Pubs know this isn’t going anywhere either. Dems control the House. It’s a stunt with no upside, which is why Mitch wanted to shut it down.
but the point is if the Rs controlled the House then they could get somewhere with it when they have no proper claims for voter fraud

Republican State Senate Majority in Pennsylvania refusing to swear in a Democratic Senator - certified winner, because the Republican candidate who lost refuses to concede.

I disagree. I think there are enough pub congresspeople who are uneasy enough with this as it is—a stunt—that they wouldn’t go along if there were an actual chance that it could overturn the election. There are some pubs who are true believers, to be sure, but the vast majority of pubs don’t actually want Trump to retain the White House if it means there will literally be blood in the streets.
In any event, we won’t get to find out, because neither the house nor the senate is going to vote to overturn the election.
what is it with board Rs (except Pops who FINALLY saw the light a couple of days ago) who think that their old party still exists and that they will do the right thing when given the chance? Trump has changed your party forever.
Pub blue state governors and senators like Romney, Sasse and Murkowski have not been purged. And it's not like Trump treats mostly compliant governors like Kemp and DeSantis any better than the Hogans, Bakers and Dewines of the world. I've seen a few different articles just today talking about those fractures, 1 from The Hill. I think Sasse is correct that GOP DC pols are mostly just doing what they can to humor Trump and his supporters before the GA runoff and the inauguration and hoping against hope that he goes quietly or loudly into the night on 1/20. And I don't think any of us really know what the new reality will be and how beholden DC pols are to Trump come 1/21.
Trump did not change the party. Trump was the logical next step for where the party had been headed for the last 30+ years

If I didn’t disagree with you, I would have left the party a long time ago.
