2021 Republican Coup (Practice Run)

The cultural impact is to ignore how terribly gig, contract, and hourly employees are treated. Crowdsourcing for health care or food to buy from the store or restaurant they already work at. Teachers buying their students school supplies. Poor pay. Poor support after tireless wage work (think mental health care etc). Knowing their young family is home and going to food banks. Not hard to understand how people in that situation become radicalized. Fostering an us against them "brotherhood" through shared experiences.

Except we need people to stock groceries, deliver food, pick up the garbage, and take care of our children while we work. We don’t *need* anyone to go to Afghanistan for 16 months and kick doors down.

I was responding to a specific post about a specific topic. Kinda shitty to completely change my post. Its not like its an obvious FIFY joke.

I didn’t completely change your post, is the point. The conditions you listed describe a whole class of Americans, to which enlisted and many veterans belong to. It’s a ploy of conservatives and liberals to focus on the particular suffering of military veterans, rather than admit that veterans suffering and poverty is just a normal condition of their class within capitalism. Class consciousness and labor solidarity are dangerous to capitalism, so we have to keep all the poors arbitrarily divided.

How anyone can still defend this motherfucker is beyond my mental comprehension at this point. He repeatedly and shamelessly tried to cheat in a presidential election like it’s a fucking game of beer golf at the Par 3 Bistro. And I still can’t get over her told the SOS in GA to “find me 11,780 votes”.

What a horrible horrible human being and American. And those people who still defend this POS after these antics are horrible Americans as well. Fucking unbelievable.

As they are both calculating bastards (as Trump was not, he was more like an impulsive spoiled brat child) they probably don't care about these lower approval ratings in the short term. All they care about is trying to solidify Trump's base behind them and win their support for their inevitable 2024 run at the GOP nomination. I don't see either of them winning, as they lack Trump's crude personal charisma, odd emotional connection to his base (there's a reason why they're often called a cult), and ability to hog the spotlight (Trump's one true talent, imo.) Cruz in particular comes across as creepy, sanctimonious, and just plain weird. Nonetheless, if they can win over enough of Trump's base to win the nomination they'll be happy. Figuring out how to win the general election will come after.
