Go somewhere besides THRUWAY? GASP. I would never.

JK I'll go across the street for Village Juice when I'm hungover and feeling like I need to treat my body better.

What’s in the development near Thruway? Was newish back around 2016 maybe? I know it had a LA fitness but that’s all I know.

Damn: edited to add I'm drunk. Pretend below I'm talking about Robinhood like before.

This area is officially and for all time known as SHOPPER'S PARADISE. this was the location for all after-school throw-downs and fistfights.

JUICE SHOP. Did my ninth grade economics report on them because they were my favorite business in the world. I've spent now money there than just about anywhere else. ARCTIC ORANGE and POLAR PEACH

My b about whole foods. Guess we were even fancier than I remember. Funny bc there is a Harris teeter literally a block away (with that sweet thai restaurant inside) and another teeter maybe a half mile down the road at thruway. Not great planning.

Teeter Thai is one of my favorite parts of Winston.

So those of you who aren't friends with me on Facebook, we started a farm during the pandemic. We've been overwhelmed by the demand so far, just doing free-range, pasture raised eggs. We can't keep up with demand, and are expanding into other products. It's really been a mental and physical gamechanger for me, and also why I've not been as active here for some time.

Congrats! Transitioned to 'Tegridy products yet?

I started a new save on Stardew Valley so I can really relate.

Congrats dude.

Nice! What are your other products? I’ve tried finding somebody near me that has hens I could buy eggs from but have been unsuccessful so far. I’ve checked Nextdoor & people post all the time but seems like the eggs go quick. Also many are out in the sticks.

2 hts, pubix, tjs, wf, food dog, Walmart

Yet I still drive to Aldi on Peters creek

There's a co-op supposed to open near the ballpark and compare foods on the don flow strip stocks the really gnarly stuff

Laying hens at the moment. Started out with 6 hens, then added 10 more, then added 14 more. 13 are currently laying, and the other 14 should be ready by July 4th.

We have 80 broiler birds coming next week, and once those are processed we'll do turkeys in time for Thanksgiving, all pasture raised.

End of April we have 50,000 bees arriving to start our aviary. We're planning on selling whole comb, honey, lip balms, and hand creams.

Later this year we'll probably add some hogs, and hopefully some cattle soon after. We've been intensely studying the regenerative farming method and are going full steam ahead.

How many grocery stores can that area support? That’s 5 in like a 2 mile radius maybe?
But yet crossing 52 just a couple miles away is a food desert. One of the worst in the country based upon population density. Insane to think of the food inequality.

Your chicken coop looks awesome.

We are vastly expanding our container garden this year and picking up plants tomorrow.

We built it thinking it would be all we'd ever need. Little did we know. It works great, but we're almost to the point of outgrowing it. Our plan is to convert it to a brooding/winter coop and build a more mobile, fenced in coop that we can move around the yard. I love letting the birds go wherever they want, but they shit wherever they go. On our porch, our deck, our garage. We've got to limit their access.
