without addressing the fact that palma's living room looks almost to the exact detail as I would have guessed, is that a pretzel ice cream cone?

16 mins on a Friday crossword today, that’s fast for me.

struggling right now because I have a final round interview next week with much of the c-suite, including the CEO but I feel very good about my chances, and then trying to balance it with all of these projects I need to start on. I really need to get working on them because they will be a lot of work, and I don't want to get complacent because if I don't get that other job I'll be in trouble if I continue to put off my current work. but on a beautiful Friday morning, it's tough. the motivation just isn't there.

I get that Barca. There was a time years ago when I felt great about a position where I was a shoo in (I thought) but then ended up not getting it for some reason and had to forcibly drag motivation back from zero to 60 for a job I loathed and had basically mentally moved on from entirely. Barf. Hope it works out better in your case.

thanks. I don't loathe my current job, just facing a bit of burnout which I think has been exacerbated by the pandemic and the fact I haven't had any vacation this year. I took some time off at Easter to visit the in-laws, but that certainly wasn't a vacation. if I got this job, I hope to be able to take a bit of time off in between but have no expectations on start date. I also want to leave here in good standing and not leave them in the lurch because I have enjoyed my time here and my coworkers.

I'm hoping I'm the only final candidate because the HR guy said it was difficult finding a time for everyone to get together on a call. and the hiring manager would be on the call as well, so I'm taking it as her presenting me to them since I would work with a lot of them on projects. she was also on the interview I had this week with her team. but, again, can't get complacent especially because plenty of tough questions could come from this panel and I gotta be sharp.

when it comes to letter-writing -- or really any writing -- I am a much bigger fan of the non-indent than the indent at the beginning of a paragraph

the one-tab indent reminds me of the five-paragraph essays I wrote in middle school (and probably high school, to be honest)

Jesus Palma. You make like 8 times what I make. Buy a decent tv stand for fucks sake.

“Loathe” is strong but I knew it wasn’t for me long term and I had a fairly narrow window to get out cleanly without leaving a lot of huge projects mid stream. Which would have really screwed people. Partially their fault for running so lean. As it turned out when that window shut I ended up staying and working longer and more stressful hours the next few months on those projects. But fortunately got out when the window opened the next time.

Catamount and Palma are pretty close to the same person...I base this on knowing Cat IRL and know Palma on the boards.

I can't remember the last time I've tabbed a pragraph. probably for an essay at Wake or maybe high school.

100% IN on this one. It pisses me off when I get a memo with paragraphs indented. That's for a novel.

i should clarify, by "any writing" I mean in a professional context -- not in a magazine or book
