i read the issue is that removing the preseason component still makes the model less accurate. the guy who runs sp+ did say that the covid season and the presence of super seniors was screening with the model. any model is probably gonna be less accurate this year as a whole because the preseason inputs are more susceptible to outliers than usual.

Less accurate compared to what? Actual head to head results or rankings with the same baked in bias?

hopefully not relevant for a while but our backup qbs have not looked playable in what little we’ve seen from them the past two seasons.

not saying take it out completely necessarily, but seems like the weighting is off
