Non-Political Coronavirus Thread

This mask shit is going to be over in a month or so.

Mask wearing is no longer the issue.

I think this is going the other way in light of the vaccines’ inefficacy against omicron. Biden just ordered 400 million N95 masks from the strategic national stockpile to be distributed across the country. I predict a recommendation for N95 mask requirements and booster mandates.

i think this is closer in imaginary permeance to airport security than to any other previous public health crisis of our time

Hawaii takes this Covid stuff super seriously. It’s very comforting. Restaurants want proof of vaccination to enter, all stores have “masks required” signs on the door. It’s really nice to go about my business with out worry with only the minor inconvenience of wearing a mask.

Lol

Vaccination without boosters and cloth face diapers don’t do a damn thing against omicron

Of shutting down the economy for what amounts to the a mild flu case for damn near anyone who’s been vaccinated.

Again, everyone should get vaccinated. Not everyone is going to get vaccinated. We have reached the limits of the vaccination effort in this nation. It has fallen short and that sucks.

Masks are bullshit at this point. Total fucking bullshit unless you and everyone around you are wearing N95 masks . That is the fact of the matter and that has not changed since day one. If Biden wants to send everyone the US an N95 mask (or two), it’s too little, too late. Masks are not the issue.

And when I go to a restaurant, no one is safer because I wear one when I stand up to walk out of the building for ten seconds without a mask than they are when I sit there for an hour and eat without a mask. How can anyone logically deny that ?

Yeah, nobody’s going along with that. As as non-political as this thread is “supposed” to be, it will contribute to a landslide defeat for democrats all over the country. Biden is a fucking idiot in this regard.

Unfortunately, virtues can’t signal themselves.

Huh.

Oh fuck, I forgot when I was writing my post that I also have the minor inconvenience of carrying and showing a card. Fuck this place, I’m going home. Birding is pretty shitty here anyway.

Agreed, but birdbrain said “without worry”

Yeah, like, believe it or not, but I’m not worried about eating in a restaurant with a bunch of other vaccinated people. I’m not worried about my self going to the hospital and I’m not worried about sending some other unvaccinated nitwit to their death because I’ve got an undetected minor omicron break through.

But you can still catch it from a vaccinated person. However, the outcome is the same — you don’t go to the hospital, which is great. Do you feel that much better about getting it from a vaccinated person rather than an unvaccinated person ?

Vaccination doesn't matter at this point. Omicron demonstrated that it's solid against hospitalizations, but not against getting it. People aren't going to stand for more bullshit limitations. Get vaccinated or don't. Doesn't matter to me, and my safety or anybody else's is not contingent upon somebody's vaccination status.

There was always a short fuse for this. I think the only reason it lasted longer than it did is because we're so divided along political lines. Now that pretty much everybody has had it, the tipping point has arrived. People want to move on and resume normalcy. It's endemic. Time to admit it and adjust accordingly.

Biden administration is distributing 400 million N95 masks this week. These masks are useful for approximately one day of use. There are 350 million people in this country.

What am I missing here ?

I think that vaccinations absolutely matter. It’s great that 2/3’s of us are vaccinated which keeps most people safe.

That’s not true but who the fuck cares anymore everyone’s an expert, everyone’s special snowflake opinion matters just as much to create their own little reality. So sure it feels right so why not!
